Circus Skills Workshops

Run away with the circus and get into shape after Christmas with Lost in Translation. They’re introducing foundation levels for curious and complete beginners to give you a taste of multiple acrobatic and aerial disciplines, allowing you to decide which skills you’d like to progress with. A lively alternative to the gym in a unique space.

Martin Carthy

One of the trailblazers of the 1960s folk revival, Martin Carthy influenced everyone, including Bob Dylan, with his encyclopaedic knowledge of song and his distinctive style of guitar picking. Twice a member of Steeleye Span, Martin has enjoyed many other creative partnerships, including Waterson: Carthy alongside his partner Norma Waterson and their daughter Eliza Carthy.

Their new project, as always, is a page from the big book of North Americana and outsider folk.

The Play About Calais by Steve Waters

Confused and disturbed by the ‘migration crisis’, acclaimed playwright Steve Waters went to Calais on the eve of the EU referendum. Now months after the vote and the destruction of The Jungle, weary after fraught political debate and living in a seemingly divided country, the situation appears more confusing and disturbing than ever. This new play journeys to make sense of one of the central humanitarian issues of our time, finding humour, hope and heartbreak on the way.

Our lives are in the hands of those we don’t trust. Award-winning playwright, Michelle Sewell, presents a postmodern love story in Border Control. This politically charged play fuses multimedia and text to tackle issues of immigration and love in a post-brexit UK. 20 minute play followed by a 40 minute panel discussion of the future of politics and art in Norwich.
