Bobby Baker: Drawing on a (Grand) Mother’s Experience
Legendary performance artist Bobby Baker first performed Drawing on a Mother’s Experience in 1988 as a 38 year old mother of two. A commentary on domesticity, the performance is based on Baker’s first eight years of motherhood and explores her fascination with the role and belief that it is largely undervalued by society. Now a grandmother to two granddaughters, and as determined a feminist as ever, Baker revisits her seminal work to highlight the subject, still relevant 27 years after her first performance. Bringing the production up to date, the piece offers a timely reflection on motherhood from an older and wiser vantage point.

This is a show about girls and guns. It’s a show that asks two people to take to the stage and play out a film script in front of you. It wonders what the difference might be in watching something on screen and experiencing something live. It is a show that asks what it means to be a hero, what it means to be a plot device, and what it means to watch.

Hannah Nicklin: Equations for a Moving Body
A new piece of storytelling about endurance – when our brains tell our bodies to stop – and the psychology of carrying on. It is the story about preparing mind and body for a 2.4 mile swim, 112 miles of cycling, then running a marathon. About the people who share that journey with us: family, coaches, friends, ex-boyfriends, and the people we swim, ride and run alongside. What carries us to the finish line? What’s left at the end?
