Project Ideas Discussed We had our first team meeting via Yahoo chat on Thursday, October 28, 2010 to discuss the project. Our discussion ranged from the various technologies that were available to us. From the list we determined that the three project technologies that we will present to NewwDeal, Inc. are: Wireless Security, Mobile Application and Podcasting. On their own or integrated, each of our technologies will benefit NewwDeal, Inc. Podcasting will be a good content or knowledge delivery system. NewwDeal may be able to have a team create mobile applications that will help on their operations. One of them may use podcasting as a way to access content. NewwDeal can have mobile workers that needed to hear content by demand while driving somewhere. The mobile worker's supervisor may upload a podcast of the project briefing or some recording of previous teleconference meetings. Now, wireless security should protect these in-house mobile programs. This is necessary especially if the mobile worker gets exposed to numerous wireless infrastructures. Process Discussed We have chosen to take wireless security, mobile application, and podcasting to create a business case to present the business case to NewwDeal’s corporate technology senior management. So far we have decided to use the Website for the presentation. Our research will be conducted individually then integrated as one project. Each topic will have a financial report explain how their topic will affect the other two topics, risks management for each topic, and tell how the team will present the project. Our team project main focus is communication between all branches. Wireless Security

Supporting Technology and Group Communication The technologies we discussed using in our virtual communication were Google chat, Google document sharing, Yahoo chat, Blackboard posting, Skype, and a private website created by our group. The team has also decided to use email for immediate communication. We decided to utilize Yahoo chat for real-
time communication and conduct our collaboration efforts (i.e. document sharing, team postings, etc.) via our personal website and post finished products to Blackboard. We also created the following norms for our team:
Check in via blackboard and the website Tuesday evening of every week. Yahoo chat meetings on Thursday evenings at 9:30 pm EST. Post sections of the assignment that are due that week must be completed nlt Wednesday evening so there is time to compile the information, edit and discuss accordingly via Thursday teleconference. Commit to giving 100% participation. Team submissions will be provided by Denico Green.
