STEVEN HOPKINS
Peoples faces and their associated social conditions are the primary sources for my woodcut print inspiration There is something about the human face that transcends the physical features That undefined "something" is what I explore
JEANNE KOLLMEYER
I’m an acrylic artist and arts educator My painting subjects are flowers in vases, vegetable and fruit still lives and beach scenes I love painting with vibrant colors and prefer simple compositions Many of my pieces are 6x6 paintings but I also have larger ones I have a passion for teaching art to preschoolers and adults
TAYLOR KATZMAN
As a Milwaukee-based artist, I explore the intricate layers of human emotion through acrylic portraits and figures, focusing on the subtle nuances of facial expressions and body language
My work is designed to establish a deep connection between the viewer and the subject, using vibrant colors and bold contrasts to create a lasting reflection of our collective emotional experiences.
Art, for me, is a form of dialogue. Whether through online platforms or face-to-face interactions, I am passionate about sharing my artistic evolution and sparking meaningful conversations I aim for my work to serve as a safe haven for introspection, while also forging enduring connections with others
Born and raised in Milwaukee, my journey began in 2014 when I developed a “bad habit” of doodling on schoolwork, which eventually evolved into a passion for visual expression Though I have always been drawn to art, I never pursued formal training beyond middle school, believing that not taking art “too seriously” allowed me to nurture my creativity without constraints
When I began painting, I discovered an entirely new way to express myself through color, shifting from my earlier work in black-and-white ink
A driving force behind my work is the desire to express emotions visually. Inspired by the 7-38-55 Rule of communication, which suggests that nonverbal cues like tone and body language play a more significant role in conveying meaning than words, I center my art on the human body and face This focus allows me to communicate emotions in a way that feels both authentic and powerful
YULIYA BAY
Bringing out the soul in a visual level is my form of art Using any material that is easily available and mass produced, often regarded as “cheap” to create something priceless.
Creating meaning and a movement from single use plastic bags and other easily disregarded items along side with Russian training in classical art and American capital consumption my works truly are a controlled chaos of clashing ideas and materials And I make it work without any glue
HOLLY SCHISLER
