in the Pantheon

The Pantheon is a beautiful temple where visitors come to worship gods and goddesses. The roof of the temple is a large dome with a hole in the top that lets light in and on to the marble floor below. People bring flowers, money and animals to the temple and leave them as offerings to statues of the gods.

Chariot Racing

Ancient Romans love to watch chariot races, where teams compete on a curved track. The Circus Maximus is the largest stadium in Rome and can hold hundreds of thousands of people! There are four chariot racing teams in Rome – the Blues, Greens, Whites and Reds. Look at them all go!

Use the stickers to add horses to the Blue team.

Public Baths

It’s always busy at the public baths! There are cold pools, warm pools and hot pools for everyone to relax in. The water is kept warm by ancient heating systems under the ground, called hypocausts. As well as taking a bath, people enjoy getting a massage or going for a swim.

Can you add some steam to the hot bath

Stick in a woman getting a shoulder massage.

Home Life

Many ancient Romans live in simple buildings called insulae. Poorer families live at the top of the building and richer families live closer to the ground floor, where merchants run businesses. Very rich families do not have to live in the busy insulae and instead own large villas, where they throw fancy parties and have up to four rooms for eating in!

Can you stick in some merchants selling food

Add a family to the top floor of the largest building.
