THE BREAK DOWN: VOL 1
Creative Netwerk recently released “Elvin Discovers ChicagoFootwork”whichisthefirsteverChicagoFootwork children's book! The groundbreaking activity book was written and illustrated by leaders and members of the ChicagoFootworkcommunity.Toamplifytheconnectionof literacy and music, Legendary Chicago producer, DJ T-Rell from Chicago, created original music for an album called “The Break Down Vol. 1” highlighting Chicago Footwork music as well as a Chicago House track. Some of our members had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Creative Netwerk and be apart of this project. Our youth provided production and vocals on the first two tracksofthealbum.Clickthelinktocheckoutthealbum!
HIT THEM WERKZ
Here’s a clip of our youth working on the aforementioned “The Break Down: Vol 1” album. Again, they created the first two tracks on the album titled “Can U Show Me How to Skate” and “Jordan Center (Hit Them Werkz).” They had the unique opportunity to create these tracks with a powerhouse producer in the Chicago Footwork scene, DJ T-Rell, the son of the legendaryDJPhantom. This wasaonceinalifetimeexperience for our youth and something they’ll be able to look back on and beproudof.
