UNIQUE YOUTH

Interns learning in the field Ray on the chords

Ray Boynes was a youth member that started out in our JA specials sessions that converted to the afterschool program where he has diligently spending his time between learning keys and drums. He never misses an opportunity to demonstrate his skills for hispeersonourfridayopenjamsessions.

Our two americorps youth interns Kayla Ghee and Kumani Browne have been spending a lot of time in the N4N studio after school, applying what they have been learning about production in the AE+MP class. They are now leading our recording sessions for our membersafterschoolandevendoingsomemixing!

Cam’building up a catalog

Ja’Camreon Campbell is one of our senior hs members who has always did music as a hobby without the proper support. Since becoming a Notes for Notes member he has been expanding his vocabulary to make cleaner and more digestible music so that he can release his material. He is gearing up for his first release in April as we work as a unit to fine tune his catalog.

JA Rattlers wrap up Cata Comics Connection

The Junior Academy Rattlers spent the month writing, recording and learning production all with the goal of completing a group project. Their final product “Bow, Bow, Bow” has been wrapped up and is currently in the mixing/mastering phase. Check out their Teaser fortiktokhere!

Cata Comics is one of the JA specials partners that also facilitate groups for the Junior Academy students. When they're not teaching youth how to create and structure their own comics they are making music as a band as well! After our JA session we all collab to put on impromptu shows for our students to show that the staff arejustastalentedastheyouthweserve!
