Military Rank/Title: Lieutenant Colonel, United States Marine Corps Reserves. Logistics Officer. Role: Training, advising, and assisting Afghan Army leadership on logistics (i.e., supply chain management).
Megan Doyle ’95 (2) was honored as one of Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. She listed Mary Beth Riley as her inspiration for being a model of strong leadership and a believer in empowering other women.

Patricia Dalton ’98 Wood (4) gave birth to a baby girl, Elaine Luella Wood, on June 25.
Amanda Sanchez ’99 (5) gave birth to a baby girl, Aven James, in July.
Elizabeth John ’00 (6) gave birth to a a son, Harrison Xavier John, on August 8.
Melinda Tran ’00 (7) welcomed a baby boy, Alexander Ming Hoang on August 17.
Kailin Tuscano Kwan ’03 (8) gave birth to a baby boy, Logan Eric Kwan, on July 18.
Emily Brown ’05 Jones (11) gave birth to a baby girl, Alexis Lynne, on July 28.
Hilary Jarman ’06 (12) was named one of Staffing Industry Analysts 40 Under 40. As director of marketing in the U.S. for Adecco Group, Hilary has focused on the millenials demographic, modernizing how the company views millennials and updating how it uses digital communication channels.
Shiva Barforoshi ’09 moved to Chicago in August to attend medical school at Rosalind Franklin Chicago Medical School.
Elizabeth Diemer ’10 moved to Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, where she will work towards her Ph.D
Alexandra Aranda ’11 (13) graduated from the nursing program at Hawaii Pacific University last Spring. She has plans to work in a hospital in intensive care or obstetrics.
Gina Gacad ’12 (14) graduated with a double degree in American multicultural studies and communications studies with a minor in English. She is currently working in San Francisco for a public relations firm called Codeword SF.
Claire Smoker ’13 (15) joined four Santa Clara University faculty members in Nicaragua this summer to explore the complex environmental issues affecting coffee farmers.
Lyndsie Soriano ’13 (16) graduated in June from Seattle University with a bachelor’s degree in social work.
Amanda Sura ’13 (17) graduated cum laude last spring from Fresno State University with a BS in animal sciences and agricultural education. She has been admitted to the School of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University and will be attending this fall. Amanda was the 2016-2017 recipient of the Edwin J Rousek Award for Animal Science Scholastic Achievement.
Gabriela Cabanayan ’15 (18) worked as an intern during the summer with San Jose’s Vice-Mayor Magdalena Carrasco. She is currently a student at the University of San Francisco.
Roselle Agdipa ‘11, Law Student
As a Law student, Roselle is active in nationwide organizations that help migrants and socio-economically disadvantaged individuals. She has worked at Legal Aid of Nebraska to help individuals with their housing and family law issues and worked on environmental policy in Washington DC. In Boston, Roselle also served as an executive member of Immigration Law Association, working with immigrants in the Boston community.
Kimberlin Serrina Marie Borca ‘09, Counselor, Huckleberry House
After graduating from USF, Kimberlin moved to a rural community in Japan where she taught English to elementary and junior high school students. During this time, she also co-lead two missions trips to minister to child survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Since then, she has been working as a crisis counselor at Huckleberry House, a youth shelter in San Francisco.
Jency Butler ‘08, Deputy District Attorney
As a deputy district attorney, Jency represents the people of the state of California in misdemeanor jury trials. She is mostly responsible for presenting cases against individuals suspected of criminal behavior, but also initiates criminal proceedings. She also works with victims of crime to empower every victim and give them a voice.
As part of this year’s Women of Impact Luncheon we are recognizing 30 Notre Dame alumnae under 30 years old who have been nominated and selected by their peers for significant contributions in their professional and/or personal lives. We honor the following individuals for their leadership in the community.
Madison Campione ‘15, Student at USC
As a student at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Maddie cowrote and directed “Remembrance,” an award-winning short film which premiered at the 2017 Cinequest VR & Film Festival and was selected to screen at venues nationwide. Over the summer, Maddie was awarded a scholarship to intern at the 2017 Festival de Cannes as part of a special program recognizing promising young female directors.
Karen Chiang ‘07, EMM Specialist, Cisco Systems Karen worked as an economic development agent in West Africa to develop a town’s first plastic recycling plant. The project benefited the environment and created a channel to empower women by offering a new and different way to generate income within the community. She is now on a team that’s working to develop critical business units within Cisco’s Cloud Networking Group. She scales the business and implements ways to create sustainable growth for the teams and the company as a whole.
Grace Choy ‘08 Raines, Designer Grace is a designer at Gensler, the largest global architecture and design firm. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of architecture degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and while a student, Grace competed in the annual Vellum
furniture design competition and won a trip to Milan to attend the Salone del Mobile, the most extensive furniture fair in the world. Grace is only one exam away from becoming a licensed architect in California.
Asha DuMonthier ‘11, Campaign Associate, EBASE
Asha splits her time between strategic research and community organizing to build campaigns for economic justice for people of color in the East Bay. She has trained workers on how to defend their rights at work and campaigns to raise job standards in the warehousing industry.
Georgina Dunn ‘11, Material R&D, BCBGMAXAZRIA Group
While in college, Georgina began working at fashion shows and went on to become a backstage director for LA and NY fashion weeks. She currently works for BCBGMAXAZRIA in the Material R&D Department, and is an event coordinator at For All Time Events.
As a freelancer, she specializes in designing and making clothes, costumes, décor, invitations and has plans to start her own company.
Maria Sanidad ‘05 Espinoza, Classroom Clinician, Beacon School
Maria is currently a marriage and family therapist intern specializing in art therapy and working towards licensure. She is also working with a local high school district
providing school-based therapy and therapeutic support in the classroom that helps teens in the community grow socially and emotionally.
Jessica Paige Melara Glenn ‘10, Sustainability Manager, Freeman
Jessica “JP” works as a sustainability manager for Freeman’s corporate green initiatives, increasing resource and economic efficiency in operations, and creating clients’ events without impacting the environment. She has earned certifications as a LEED Green Associate, a Sustainable Event Planner, and an MPI’s Sustainable Practitioner, and has also been named as a millennial to watch in the green industry.
Laura Hamister ‘06 Zwilling, Associate Attorney, Julie Mack & Associates Laura began her legal career as a volunteer for the Legal Aid Society of San Diego working with victims of domestic violence. She then became a family law attorney and has been practicing for four years. In her spare time, Laura volunteers as a court-appointed special advocate for children in San Diego’s foster care system.
Sejal Hathi ‘09, MD/MBA Student at Stanford
Sejal is a fourthyear Stanford MD/MBA candidate working at the nexus of clinical medicine, policy, and grassroots advocacy to foster better health systems on a global scale. At ND, she founded a non-governmental organization, advancing girls’ education and has since led multiple global initiatives promoting human rights, health equity and participatory democracy
around the world. She has spoken at the U.N. General Assembly, the World Health Assembly, the Nobel Laureates & Leaders for Children Summit, and TEDWomen; and is a Soros Fellow, a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree, and a Truman Scholar.
Rosemary Hua ‘10, Sr. Manager, Walmart.com / Jet.com eCommerce
Rosemary is the founder and CEO of Empathy FX International, a nonprofit organization that builds schools and provides university scholarships in Ghana. At UC Berkeley, she became the first senator of UC Berkeley to be nominated by the Catholic Community and served as president of UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Rosemary also co-founded the University Catholic Conference of California and AFX Competitive Dance Team. She has worked at Amazon.com in Seattle and is now a senior manager at Walmart.com eCommerce.
Carly Hudson ‘09, 3D Artist
After graduating with a major in animation and illustration, Carly interned with Nimble Collective, helping the company create short films. From there, she got her start in the gaming industry at the forefront of the virtual reality and augmented reality field as a 3D artist. Her team shipped its first major game title to Steam, Perplexigon, in February of 2017. She was the only woman on the team.
Andrea Huynh ‘11, Medical Student, Case Western Reserve University
Andrea is a second year medical student at CWRU School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio where
she participated in an Indian Fusion dance group, medical missions to Peru, and skin cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. She also founded Art to Heart, an organization that encourages students to serve the community through music therapy for Alzheimer’s patients, crocheting blankets for infants and elderly, and making pillows for cancer and cardiac surgery patients.
Jessica Jin ‘10, Marketing Designer, Codify Academy
After working in international clinics and neuroscience research at Stanford, Jessica started her career in healthcare where we she provided strategic recommendations to minimize revenue loss for hospitals around the country. She now spearheads the marketing division of Codify Academy and also designed an internship portal for local college students as an education pioneers research fellow in Memphis.
Jennifer Kirkland ‘10, Data Scientist, HP, Inc.
With her computer science degree from Oregon State University, Jennifer is a data scientist for HP and a consultant as a decision scientist for a Fortune 100 insurance company in its marketing analytics and research department.
Brianna Krong ‘11, Associate, Center for Gender and Refugee Studies
Brianna works as a development and communications associate at the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies (CGRS), a nonprofit organization that protects the human
rights of refugee women, children, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others fleeing persecution through legal expertise, impact litigation, policy development and research.
Aundraya Martinez ‘10, Probation Community Worker
After high school, Aundraya returned to East San Jose as a project access coordinator at the Valley Palms Family Resource Center. Now as a Probation Community Worker in the Neighborhood Safety Unit of the Probation Department, she advocates for and oversees the expansion of the center and develops partnerships that leverage additional funding to maximize long-term impact in the community.
Sydney Mimeles ‘09, Content Marketing Manager, Apple Inc. Sydney began her career as a coordinator at iTunes and focused on the music and books divisions. She managed the iBooks consumer marketing initiatives for over two years, expanding the digital presence, production of live-events, talent and author relations. Sydney now works at Apple News in the area of consumer engagement.
Kelly Minot Rafey ‘12, Editorial Assistant, W. W. Norton & Company
Kelly studied the history of language, books, and linguistic thought at Princeton, where she was active in classical reading groups, in the artist community where she lived, and in the writing center where she worked. After a year in college, publishing at W. W. Norton, she will be reading for an MPhil (an advanced research degree) in early modern history as a Pelling Scholar at the University of Cambridge.
Allison Nakano ‘07, Managing Consultant, Michael Page International
While at SF State, Allison worked in a startup social enterprise that combats predatory lending. She went on to work for the state of MA and a national nonprofit that helped small, local companies expand globally and went on to work in Turkey. Now at Michael Page, Allison leads Boston’s women’s empowerment initiatives and its philanthropic efforts, and is on the leadership board for the nonprofit, Raising a Reader.
Nicole Pal ‘10, Accenture, Senior Analyst
Nicole is currently working at Accenture within the consulting branch, focusing her work on high tech and software clients looking to expand. She has also taken on roles in people development at Accenture, from leading new analyst integration programs, to planning and hosting one of the largest Northern California annual events focusing on trends in electronics and high tech.
Mary Prescott ‘12, Assistant Engineer, HMH Engineers
Mary works at HMH Engineers and is part of a team designing the grading and drainage of a new indoor/ outdoor entertainment facility on a 40-acre site in San Jose. She has served on a team of civil engineers and landscape architects focused mainly on redesigning outdoor spaces within existing commercial campuses in the Bay Area.
Hannahrose Robinson ‘09, Lead Teacher, Achievement First
Hannahrose is entering her fifth year of teaching and has found a career she loves. She also has a passion for educational reform in America. Hannahrose believes every child deserves an adult champion to offer support and guidance.
Christy Sutherland ‘11, Head of Sales, CrossLead, Inc. Christy began at CrossLead as a customer success analyst, progressed to the sales team, and went to become one of the top 15% of influencers within the organization. In 2017, Christy was promoted to head of sales where she is responsible for all new client business across the company.
Tina Tran ‘06, Needle & Thread Law
Tina served as a City Year corps member in Chicago before attending law school at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Tina has worked as both a criminal defense and a debt relief attorney, but now has her own solo-practice to advocate for the rights of everyday people, help them get out of debt and increase their job prospects by expunging their criminal records. Tina is also a passionate social justice advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Izzy Ullmann ‘14, Community Outreach Intern, Asylum Access Malaysia Izzy has spent the past five years in anti-trafficking and refugee work through human trafficking research in four Bay Area county and district attorney offices, and working with international leaders of antitrafficking movements. At East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, she drafted declarations for refugee status with Central American asylees. At International Rescue Committee, she helped resettled refugees apply for permanent residency, family reunification and citizenship. She’s now working at Asylum Access Malaysia and writing human trafficking curriculum for vulnerable refugees.

As a member of the
Community Relations
uses the platform to reach out to the community, creating a lasting impact through cause marketing programs and initiatives. Recently, she worked with her team to renovate a local school in Oakland by providing a safe place to play and resources to help explore educational interests.
