Freshman Family Liturgy

… Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph October 29, 2020

Welcome! At important moments, we set aside time to celebrate and give thanks to God. Catholics practice this celebration of appreciation with the Eucharistic Liturgy, also known as the Mass. The Mass includes two main parts, the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The Liturgy of the Word includes scriptures that tell about God's presence with our ancestors and then about Jesus' life and ministry. This part of the Liturgy ends with prayers for our world and then specifically for our community. The Liturgy of the Eucharist includes blessing of bread and wine to become the Body and Blood of Christ. Through sharing in this Eucharistic meal we are then strengthened to be the love of Christ for others. As people of love, we seek to respect each other, serve each other, and share peace with each other throughout this celebration. We thank you for joining us and helping us to celebrate all the gifts of this Notre Dame community!
