Project statement

Nestled among the trees and snow of the majestic Caucasus Mountains hiding this house, the design of the two main rooms【The master bedroom and the living room】focuses on maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the traditional Circassian elements of the Caucasus region and making them the cornerstone of the design concept.

The Caucasus, specifically North Caucasus, a captivating mountain range bridging Europe and Asia, is home to the Circassians —a people of rich history, language, and traditions.

Despite facing centuries of conflict, including a tragic genocide, the Circassians resiliently preserve their culture through dispersed diaspora communities worldwide. Their vibrant customs, music, motifs, dance, and folklore reflect a strong sense of community and hospitality. While navigating political and economic challenges, the Circassians remain dedicated to preserving their identity and shaping a brighter future for their homeland, contributing to the diverse tapestry of the Caucasus region.

The main goal of the project is to merge the Circassian culture in a modren way.

Moodboard

The master bedroom is a cozy oasis, with warm wood accents, plush textiles, and a stunning view of the snow-capped peaks , while the living room is a spacious and inviting space, featuring a large fireplace, handcrafted carpets, and intricate wood carvings.

Throughout the home, traditional Circassian elements are incorporated into the design, from the intricate drawing on the walls to the hand-woven rugs on the floors and the built-in shelfs .

These elements create a sense of warmth and authenticity, making the home a truly unique and special place.

Fabric

Inspired by traditional red and black clothing that was made from thick layers of velvet, integrated with other types of fabric.

Nod to the region's rich history of livestock farming, leather is incorporated into the design with a subtle and elegant touch.
