ROTORUA HOSPO AWARDS The region’s best barista, chef, eatery and more will be announced in mid-August at the bi-annual Rotorua Hospitality Awards. With an undeniably tough year ahead of the industry, these awards, presented by the Restaurant Association, will be a welcome event in the calendar. This year’s awards will be a little different but the good news is they are going ahead. Thanks! We would like to give a big shout out to all those people and businesses in our community who have worked to help others through the past few months. A massive thanks to the Greenlea Butcher Shop who, at the start of May, had donated 10 tonnes of mince to the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul. And that’s not all, they will donate another 8.5 tonnes in the next few months to help families in need.

While keeping production for her vegan meals going during lockdown, Mila from V on Wheels also had time to make beautiful, nutritious salads for Under the Stars, who were feeding over 500 people. The task was so big Mila also used social media to mobilise others to make salads and then drove around picking them up.
