One-Man Show Hits the Virtual Stage
The pandemic may have closed Cinnabar Theater’s Petaluma stage, but the company is still producing shows—online. The latest production is the Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, a one-man show starring Mike Pavone. The local actor plays nine characters, including that of the bored small town detective who finds intrigue in a case about the disappearance of a teen boy, Leonard Pelkey. The playwright of the show, James Lecesne, won an Academy Award for his 1994 short film Trevor and is also the cofounder of the Trevor Project, a 24-hour crisis hotline for LGBTQ youth (866-488-7386). The live-streaming show will begin January 22. Purchase tickets ($30) at cinnabartheater.org. ¶
