Favrile Water-based polychromatic decorative system for interiors GENERAL FEATURES Favrile is a polychromatic decorative system made of water-based acrylic copolymers, special metallic pigments, selected additives and rheological modifiers which ensure an highworkability. The chromatic and decorative effects are achievable overlapping different layers of product in different shades and using different tools as, for example, spalter, glove, leather rag or airbrush.
USES Decorations of interiors, both private and public, where colors enriched with pearly shades are required. IDENTIFICATION FEATURES Binder nature: emulsion acrylic copolymer. Density: Favrile Silver-Gold: 1,08 +/- 0,05 g/ml Favrile P310-P311-P312-P313-P366P368: 1,08 +/- 0,05 g/ml Favrile Full Metal P650 Oro-P660 Argento-P670 Bronzo-P680 Rame: 1,15 +/- 0,05 g/ml Favrile Metal Silver-Metal Gold: 1,11 +/- 0,05 g/ml PERFORMANCE FEATURES All Favrile system’s products are extremely versatile and guarantee good abrasion resistance features. DILUTION Acrilak (clear water-base acrylic sealer): 1:4-1:5 diluted with water. Novalux E White (water-based washablepaint for interiors and exteriors): 30% max dilution with water. Favrile: ready to use; alternatively, 50% max. dilution with water depending on the application technique and the requested effect to be reached.
WARNING Mix the products properly before the tinting and application cycle. Do not apply on fresh/new substrates; wait a maturation period of 4 weeks normally. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION (T=25°C, UR=60%) The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains. Apply one layer of Acrilak diluted (see dilution) with brush or short-air roller. After at least 4 hours, apply one layer of Novalux E White diluted (see dilution) with brush, short-air roller or spray-gun. Remove any imperfection or excess of material. After 8 hours, apply a second layer of Novalux E White diluted (see dilution) with brush, short-air roller or spray-gun. Drying time: 24 hours approx. depending on the kind of support and its absorption rate, considering standard environmental conditions (T=25°C, UR=60%) Application with leather rag: Apply one layer of Favrile with brush working the surface into vertical strips of width of one meter approx., proceeding from the top to the bottom of the surface. Use the leather rag leaving the upper strip un-worked. This part will be used as connection for the following strip in order to avoid any joint. Application with spalter: Please follow the abovementioned application. Work into the surface with a spalter proceeding with more or less strokes depending on the desired effect. Application with glove: Dip the glove in the product and then apply a first layer of Favrile working the surface in circular movement. Pay attention not to get any joint.
Dripped application: Apply one layer of Favrile using a lowpressure spray-gun and adjusting the amount of air and product depending on the drops of Favrile to get. It’s important to mantain the same amount of product during the entire application cycle. Application with spray-gun: This technique is more suitable with Favrile Metal and Favrile Full Metal. Apply one layer of Favrile diluted with 50% of water using a spray-gun until achieving a compact and uniform surface. After 8 hours, apply a second layer of Favrile with the same technique. RECOMMENDATIONS The product must be protected from cold and high heat changes, during the entire application process. Do not apply with air, substrate and product temperature lower than +10°C and higher than +35°C, nor under direct sun light, nor on superheated surfaces (even if already in shadow). It is recommended to complete each work with materials from the same batch of production. TOOLS CLEANING With water, immediately after use. YIELD 2 Acrilak: 20-30 m /l, depending on the type of substrate and on its absorption rate. 2 Novalux E: 6-7 m /l, depending on the type of substrate and on its absorption rate. 2 Favrile: 4-5 m /l for application with 2 leather rag, spatter and glove; 8-10 m /l for application with spray-gun. PACKAGES 5 lt buckets. SHELF LIFE The packaged product is guaranteed for 24 months, if stored in the original sealed package and at temperatures between +5째C and +35째C. SECURITY PROCEDURES EU Directive 2004/42/CE Favrile (paint for decorative effects) EU limit value for Favrile (cat A/l):200 g/l (2010). Favrile contain 51 g/l max of VOC. The product does not require the label as per the D.L. 65 dated 14/03/03 and following amendments. Use the products as per the security and hygiene procedures rules. Dispose of the empty packaging remaining material in compliance with local laws. Keep the product away from children usage and in an airy place. In case of contact with eyes, wash them immediately with water. In case of ingestion of the products, consult immediately a doctor showing him the can or the label of the product.
