RustOn Decorative finishing for interiors with “antique patina effect” GENERAL FEATURES RustOn is a metallic patina with selected iron pigments, acrylic resins and special pigments able to veil the original colour of the substrate, making a pleasant rust effect. The substrate keeps a fasten aging appearance which can vary according to the selected application technique and according to the preparation of the substrate. RustOn is available in Red, Green, Blu, and Pearl colours. USES Decoration of prestigious interiors, as per the most modern and current “concrete” trends in the architectural fields. IDENTIFICATION FEATURES Nature of the binding agent: dispersion of acrylic and styrene copolymer Density: Ruston Red: 1,17 +/- 0,05 gr/ml Ruston green: 1,17 +/- 0,05 gr/ml Ruston Blu: 1,13 +/- 0,05 gr/ml Ruston Pearl: 1,13 +/- 0,05 gr/ml PERFORMANCE FEATURES Ruston allows the creation of surfaces with Rust-like effect, without using any spray-gun. It allows the creation of many different effects thanks to the selection of: different colours, substrate preparation, application techniques. DILUTION Acrilak (water-based acrylic clear sealer): 1:4 – 1:5 with water Novaprimer (water-based acrylic pigmented sealer): 50-80% with water Ruston Fondo (decorative thick finish for interiors): ready to use Ruston (Red, Blue, Pearl, Green): ready to use WARNINGS Properly mix the product coloration and application.

Do not apply on wet substrates, wait for a maturation period of 4 weeks normally. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION (T=25° C,UR=60%) The surface must be dry and clean, dust-free and with no salt stain. In case of smooth surfaces, apply one coat of Novaprimer diluted with a brush or with a roller. In case of no smooth surfaces, apply one coat of Acrilak diluted with a brush or with a roller. After at least 8 hours apply one coat of RustOn Fondo with a stainless trowel as a filler. After at least 8 hours, apply a second layer of Ruston Fondo with stainless steel trowel. Try to create an irregular surface, similar to an antique wall. Wait for few minutes and then use the trowel to make the surface more compact. After 24 hours, apply one layer of Ruston with a stainless steel trowel in circular movements, removing any accumulation of product. After at least 8 hours, apply a second coat of Ruston in circular movements with the same trowel. Work into the surface with the same technique removing any accumulation of product. Drying time:24 hours depending on the type of substrate and its absorption rate. RECCOMENDATIONS The product must be protected from cold and high heat changes, during the entire application process. Do not apply with air, substrate and product temperature lower than +10°C and higher than +35°C, nor under direct sun light, nor on superheated surfaces (even if already in shadow). It is advisable to complete each work with materials from the same batch of production.
DILUTION The product is ready to use and it has not to be diluted. TOOLS CLEANING With Water immediately after use. YIELD 2 Acrilak: 20-30 m /l depending on the type of substrate and its absorption rate. 2 Novaprimer: 8-10 m /l, depending on the type of substrate and its absorption rate. 2 Ruston Fondo: 1 Kg/m in two coats, depending on the type of substrate and its absorption rate Ruston (Red, Blue, Pearl, Green): 82 10 m /l in two layers. COLORS Red, green, Blue and Pearl PACKAGES 1 and 2,5 lt. buckets SHELF LIFE The packaged product is guaranteed for 24 months, if stored in the original sealed package and at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. The product doesn’t require the label as per the D.L. 65 dates 14/03/03 and following corrections. Use the product as per the security and hygiene procedures rules. Dispose of the empty packaging and remaining material in compliance with local laws. Keep the product away from children usage and in airy places.
