Biometrics are the measurable anatomical characteristics that make possible the unique identification of an individual. The in-house developed NOVOMATIC BIOMETRIC SYSTEMS™ (NBS) herald a modern approach to contemporary demands in the gaming industry. NBS consist of biometric acquisition devices, a local server and a central server in order to link multiple sites. Virtually any biometric trait could be utilized. The currently applied methods for identification and verification are fingerprints and face recognition, includ ing the option of age estimation.” The exchange of information is carried out via web services encoded in a proprietary protocol. The template of the biometric trait is cre ated locally (‘enrolment‘) and is immediately active via upload to the central server.
