AN ETHICAL GUIDE
WHY HELLO We are stoked to introduce our first ever New Zealand Ethical Christmas Gift Guide, a co-lab between Nozomi Store and Good Products, Cool People. We love the idea of your Christmas purchases not only being something your loved ones will appreciate and treasure, but also be good quality gifts that are fair trade, ethical and sustainable. We’ve found the brands we love that are easily available in NZ and put them in one spot to help you not only know what’s out there, but also give you some suggestions for those hard to buy for! For this carefully curated Christmas guide we’ve focused not only on brands that are fair trade, but also those that go the extra mile in helping to better life for the artisans who’ve made their products. From providing employment to those who’ve been sex-trafficked or prostituted, or creating industry for poverty-ridden peoples to lift themselves up by using their unique local skills. Christmas doesn’t have to be about just spending for the sake of it, we want to help you be able to make considered conscious purchases. Happy hunting

GOOD PRODUCTS - COOL PEOPLE
Good Products - Cool People is a website which exists to connect New Zealanders to good ethical products. It was born from my own hunt to find good quality products that are not only in fashion but are also ethically made. 36 million people are currently living a life of modern day slavery - a number of which are making our products. My belief is that if we all make a stand to choose products that enhance instead of harm the life of those that make them then we can make change. Find us here

THE BODY SHOP
Karen Walker has joined forces with Ethical Fashion Initiative artisans and created two stunning beach totes and a clutch purse featuring Karen’s signature love of colour and whimsical iconography. The bags are handcrafted in Kenya and embellished with traditional beadwork by women of the Samburu and Maasai tribes.
Hand-stitched from eco veg-tanned leather, Loyal Workshop artisans craft ethical leather satchels, bags and other goods with classic stylings. Their workshop, in the heart of Kolkata, is a community hub for holistic restoration; including literacy & numeracy training, health support, counselling and spiritual wholeness. Many women have found freedom from the sex trafficking industry though employment with LOYAL WORKSHOP.
Make your hands feel wonderfully soft while handing out kindness across the world. $3 from every purchase of the Soft Hands Kind Heart hand cream will be donated to The Body Shop Foundation, which gives a ‘hand up’ to charities working for positive social and environmental change, preserving and protecting our beautiful planet.

ReCreate’s sewing training and production centre is located in the disadvantaged community of Dey Tmey, Cambodia. The production of ReCreate clothing and homeware in this centre provides sustainable employment for women in order to empower them to protect their children at risk and embrace hope for a better future.
The dream of Beloved is to provide a growing marketplace for freedom products so young girls like Sana can be rescued off the streets in Mumbai, so that Otto can employ young men in his community who would otherwise end up in gangs, and women like Ravy can fulfill their dreams of seeing their children become successful. Causes worth shopping for!
Jason and Jess of Frank create notebooks, journals and diaries that are designed to fill your day with something beautiful; a pause, a breath, a grateful moment. Every day is an opportunity to craft and design who you are becoming and who you want to be. For every book you buy, we give a school book to a child in need in New Zealand.
