2017 Finalists Kimberly Lea, President, Keiser University – West Palm Beach Campus

Kimberly is passionate about the role education plays in improving lives and creating opportunities for students and communities. She serves as the Campus President of Keiser University, Florida's Career University, in West Palm Beach. Kim serves on numerous local boards including the Economic Council, the Education Foundation, the Literacy Coalition, YWCA, Leadership Palm Beach County (2016) and Junior Achievement. Kimberly has served on multiple panels discussing issues in higher education and leadership. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, which will be complete in 2018. She enjoys supporting organizations that promote education as well as those which help to advance and support women and children. Kimberly lives in Jupiter and has four amazing children.

Maria Marino, Mayor, City of Palm Beach Gardens

Maria Marino, is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of the University of Connecticut. After winning the Connecticut State Women's Amateur Championship in 1985, she came to Florida to hone her skills and never left. As a professional golfer, Ms. Marino has been a member and mentor with the Ladies Professional Golf Association since 1994. She served on the organization's National Marketing Committee, as Southeast Section Treasurer and a MemberMentor Advisor. Ms. Marino owns a Real Estate firm based in Palm Beach Gardens and serves as the Executive Director of the Jupiter Children's Foundation. With a strong belief in community service and philanthropy, Ms. Marino lends her talents to many public initiatives targeted at enriching the lives of at-risk youth and fostering relationships in the business world that benefit underserved populations. Elected to the Palm Beach Gardens City Council in 2016, Ms. Marino become the City's Mayor in 2017. Currently, she sits on a multitude of county and statewide boards. Always athletic, as a student she ran track, played volleyball, skied and was a cheerleader. It's somehow fitting that, 40 years later, Ms. Marino is back to being a cheerleader - only this time, it's for the city she's proud to call home.

Chelsea Reed, Business Manager, Palm Beach Spine Institute

Chelsea Reed is an active member of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, serving as the Health Care Committee Chair and is employed as the Business Manager of the Palm Beach Spine Institute in Jupiter. Chelsea has been involved in local healthcare for over 20 years, with a focus on community outreach, project management, relationship development and event planning. In 2016, she completed her Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management at the University of Florida and she holds a Certification as a Competent Communicator from Scientifically Speaking at Scripps. Chelsea is also an active volunteer, serving on committees for Jupiter Medical Center, Honda Classic Cares, Galloway Palm Beach, Team Spine/Chicago Marathon for the Spina Bifida Association and is currently under consideration and the Art in Public Places Advisory Board for the City of Palm Beach Gardens. Chelsea, a lifelong resident of Palm Beach Gardens, has been married to Michael Reed for over 23 years and has two teenage sons who attend Suncoast High School. The Reeds enjoy weekly trips to the beach, active travel, triathlons, marathons, water sports, support of the arts, and family time.

Minimally-Invasive Treatment Options for Heart Disease — Mended Hearts Program

Lecture by Saurabh Sanon, MD, Medical Director of PBGMC’s Transcatheter Therapies Program Tuesday, November 14 @ 6-7 p.m Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center // Classroom 4 Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is teaming up with The Mended Hearts Program to provide support for heart disease patients and their families. Members will be able to interact with others through local chapter meetings, volunteer opportunities and special events. Members are encouraged to listen, share their experiences with other heart patients, and learn from healthcare professionals about treatment and recovery. A small fee* will be collected by the Mended Hearts Program for registration. This month, join Dr. Sanon for a lecture on some of the minimally-invasive treatment options we offer at the hospital. *$5.00 per year will be collected solely by the local Mended Hearts Program to provide educational materials for members. *$20.00 per year will be collected solely by the Mended Hearts Program if participants would like to become a national member.

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center has teamed up with Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue to provide free monthly CPR classes for the community. Classes will be held at Fire Station 1. Local EMS will give a hands-only, CPR demonstration and go over Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their new skills using CPR manikins. *Certification will not be provided
