Kiwanis One Day Calling All Members: Committee Chairs Dog Day Member of the Month: May/April 50 Years of DCON: Sockhop to Service Letter from the Editor That’s All Folks: A Look at Fall 2012
Pinwheels Springfest After perfect weather conditions, New Paltz Circle K was able to raise over $100 at its Pinwheels for Prevention event! Our biggest draw, of course, was our tie-dye station, even if there were some shirts left. We thank everyone for their participation and NRHH for their help!

Kiwanis One Day To wrap up CKI’s Service Week, clubs from all over the country came together with their local branches of the K-Family (Kiwanis and Key Clubs, etc.) in service projects for Kiwanis One Day. The annuallyrecognized day, held this year on April 21, is supposed to promote awareness of CKI and the K-Family. We went to Hudson Highland Nature Museum in Cornwall to help clean up some of its outdoor facilities. Tasks varied from weed-pulling, to gardening, scraping and painting. Letter From The Editor Hello, everyone! I’m happy to be serving as your new editor for the new year! I’m loving the sense of community that has formed with our club, and while we are always hoping for increases in membership and dues paid, I don’t want us to lose sight of that. We produced some really great project ideas this year and there is nowhere to go but up! As for personal goals, I would like to make steps to strengthen our advertising for big events by utilizing campus media to its
fullest as well as continue our steady flow of communication with members. Additionally, I would like to open up communication to prospective members with a (quasi-) website, aka a Tumblr account. I confess, I’m no web designer and at the moment anything beyond a page with coding for a start up “HELLO WORLD” message is perplexing, so for now, Tumblr is as advanced as I can get. And let’s be real, Tumblr is as New Paltz as you can get. I want to use this site as an all-in-one source for keeping visitors
posted on what we’re doing and information about the club. I also want to enable the feature for followers to submit posts to incorporate an interactive element. And as you can tell, the layout for this newsletter is still being worked out, please excuse the minor bumps.
May the Odds be Ever in Your Favor Yours in Service, Leadership, and Fellowship, Andrea DeMarco
