FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Question Guidance My business property was You should start by filling out a FEMA Registration: damaged in the flood. Where Go to https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ do I start seeking assistance 1. Go to “Get Assistance” on the top navigation bar with repairs and clean-up? 2. Go to Apply Online Also your WVSBDC Business Coach will have resources available as they come available. Contact those coaches that are closest to your county: http://www.wvcommerce.org/business/businessassistance/smallbusi ness/aboutus/locations.aspx?mediatrackingcode=198_88SMBZ_577 LOCA My workers are not able to report as usual due to flood circumstances. What are my options as an employer?

Start by registering with FEMA. Next an SBA representative will contact you regarding economic relief in the form of a small low interest loan. The rates, terms and conditions are very reasonable, and it can be used for working capital or replacement of inventory.

Are there tax implications that I need to be planning for or tracking during the recovery process? I need to re-build. Where can I get construction quotes?

Yes! Save your receipts!!! This will come in handy when it’s time to file for either relief, or taxes this year.

You can start by just polling your insurance agent. They know and work with all of the contractors in your region. If you have some trouble or they’re all very busy, there’s a ton of online resources out there like http://www.thebluebook.com/ this is a network of commercial and residential contractors that might be able to get you started.
