Didot is characterized with line stroke contrast, vertical stress, and thin unbracketed serifs. Didot was created in France by Firmin Didot in 1784. All of the Didot family was rather involved in contributing to the developing of this type. Firmin’s brother Pierre Didot used them in printing. The Didot family owned and directed a foundry, a paper factory, and a printing shop, which paved the way for casual literacy and book owning for generations.

Comparable to: Bodoni Didot is known for its elegant and delicate appearance. Personally, this has been one of my favorite typefaces for quite a while. I enjoy how sophisticated it looks, and how it can be used in a variety of ways. Goes well with: Avenir
