The awards were given to people mostly in the German military, politics and to German citizens. It was bestowed to prominent people who have done something really remarkable in their fields. Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron cross (1 st Sept 1939 – 8th May 1945) This award was intended to be awarded to the most successful German general of the Second World War, once Germany had achieved victory. However, because of the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945, this award was not awarded to anyone.

Greater Germany’s 12 greatest world heroes. However, Hans-Ulrich Rudel was the only recipient of this award. He was the greatest scoring ground attack pilot in history.
