Even though the district was spared some of the storm’s fury, such as the flooding experienced in Hikurangi, Morewa and Kaitaia, emergency services had their hands full with roofs blown off, felled trees and power lines down. Dargaville Volunteer Fire Brigade chief Jeff Palmer says it was the worst storm he can remember since Cyclone Bola in 1988. The brigade rescued one

motorist on the roof of his car who was at risk of being swept off his car near Titoki. In another callout, a portacom was severely damaged after a tree fell on it. Fortunately, no one was injured. Mr Palmer says the brigade had nonstop callouts on Tuesday. The brigade remained busy through the weekend, and again on Monday morning when a tree fell at Mt Wesley, once again cutting power to residents who had already

experienced a significant outage the previous week. High winds led to widespread power cuts on Tuesday night, with lines company Northpower calling in crews from other parts of the country to help repair broken lines and restore supplies. Dargaville Hospital went onto generator power when supplies from the mains were cut. continued on page 5 …

Teens enjoy a stormy time on the high seas

 by Colin Patterson

A couple of Dargaville teens had an experience they’ll never forget during last week’s storm. Lydia Savage and Jordon Corston, both 16, were on board the replica sailing ship R Tucker Thompson off Northland’s east coast during days of gale-force winds and driving ran. To make things worse neither Jordon nor Lydia had ever sailed before, so it was a shock introduction to life on the high seas. But both took the weather in their stride. “It was great,” says Jordon. “It was a definitely a week I won’t forget. All the people on board were great. There was never a dull moment.” He says the R Tucker Thompson stayed close to shore. “I never felt in danger. It was comfortable all the time.

“It was awesome,” says Lydia. “I really wanted an experience on the water because I had a fear of the ocean. I conquered my fear.” Jordon and Lydia represented Dargaville High School in the Te Tai Tokerau Tall Ship Challenge in which six teams from Northland secondary schools competed to complete a series of physical and mental tasks during the week-long voyage. Lydia and Jordon came fourth, which they say is a respectable performance for two teens having their first sailing experience. “I learned lots of new skills, about safety at sea, being prepared for emergencies and procedures to

Community event to thank emergency workers  by Colin Patterson

Seeing Facebook photos of fallen trees, damaged houses and blocked roads spurred Dargaville woman Joanne Williams to action. On Thursday night she posted on Facebook that she wanted to organise an event to thank the lines workers, members of volunteer fire brigade, roading contractors ambulance w o r ke r s , police and others who worked in often atrocious conditions who restore essential services. “My next-door neighbour works for Northpower. He was gone just about all the time.” She says the response posting was “great” and “wonderful”. “I’ve had numerous phone calls.” Ms Williams was also interviewed on the radio. Little more than 12 hours after raising her suggestion, details were confirmed. The event will take place at the Kaipara

follow,” says Lydia. The skills tests include a 7am swim around the ship every morning. “I didn’t really think I would enjoy it, because I’m not good at swimming,” says Jordon. Both were delighted to make it back to dry land when the R Tucker Thompson berthed at Paihia. But the drama was not yet over. State Highway 11 to Kawakawa was closed because of flooding, meaning a detour on the drive home to Dargaville. ¢

Norfolk Court Rest Home’s most famous tree has been chopped down but there is still life in it yet.

where the piggy is  by Joanne Speechly

BNZ Dargaville’s popular Dress the Piggy competition was axed this year, after a shipment of unadorned pigs failed to arrive.

p Norfolk Court’s historic tree will now be turned into a picnic area for residents

The Norfolk pine, which is believed to have been planted by town founder Joseph Dargaville, was struck by lightning in 2011, splitting the trunk, and the tree has been carefully monitored ever since. Mr Dargaville’s historic home is part of the Norfolk Court Rest Home and CEO Stuart House imagines that the tree was planted soon after the house was built in 1874, making the pine around 139 years old. “Initially, we’d hope to save the tree but it had started

dying through the centre,” says office manager Wendy Hutchins. “However, it seemed a shame to lose it completely, so we’ve taken it down to about six foot. “We’ll erect a canopy roof and have a table made to go onto the actual tree, with chairs, to make a picnic area and we will also be planting another Norfolk pine.” Wendy commends Northpower for doing an excellent job despite the stormy weather last Wednesday. ¢

However, the ever vigilant Kaipara Community Health Trust had already stocked up on piggies and dressed them up in eager anticipation of the event, so BNZ decided to honour the three piggy masterpiece. “We couldn’t let this effort go to waste, so we decided the KCHT Piggy could have its own p BNZ driving the KCHT health shuttle fundraiser display in the bank and all donations received would go towards into Kaipara Community Health Trust the running costs of KCHT Health 02-0308-023161-25 bank account.” Shuttle,” said BNZ customer service “The Health Shuttle last year consultant Liz Tipene. assisted nearly 600 people in accessing “We will hold a barbeque outside the medical appointments in Dargaville BNZ from 11am to 2pm on Friday, July and in Whangarei,” said KCHT CEO 31. Storm leaves its mark While power to towns was restored relatively quickly, farming families had to survive longer in the dark. Terry McDermott who farms in the Tangowahine Valley says his farm was without power from Tuesday evening to lunchtime on Thursday. “The phone went out with the power. And we had no cell phone coverage. We got by with torches, candles and a good warm fire.” But as soon as the power came back on, his farm was cut off by rising flood waters that closed Tangowahine Valley Rd. Flood waters at the Roto culvert closed State Highway 12 north from Dargaville to the Waipoua Forest from

Wednesday through to Sunday. And the convergence of water making its way downstream from the flooded Hikurangi swamp and high tides from the Wairoa River forced the closure of State Highway 14 at Tangiteroria on Saturday, although it reopened mid-morning on Sunday. By the start of the new week only a handful of local roads remained closed, including Parore West Rd just north of Dargaville and Bob Taylor, Paerata, Child and Piritaha roads near Tangiteroria. Kaipara District Council spokeswoman Barbara Ware says water and sewerage services coped and no significant problems were reported. ¢

BENEATH THE SURFACE Throughout the time that the Commissioners have spent time in Kaipara, a number of community projects that involve land owned by Council have been completed or are being advanced. At Selwyn Park in Dargaville, a skate park has been built. Opened last summer, its summer time use was well above projections. Some skate parks work well, some do not. This one is a winner. It is well located and visible. It was designed well, for all ages of youth. Well done to the promoters. Further works are being undertaken at this site to improve the entranceway and carparking, for both the skate park and the adjacent playground. At Memorial Park in Dargaville, the Kaipara Recreation Facilities Society is promoting a “Sportsville” concept for future development. This would involve a centralised administration centre, for use by the many sporting codes that use the park. Shared carparking, changing rooms, and toilet blocks would be built. This sports village concept is being successfully implemented around New Zealand. Cost sharing and facility sharing is important when resources are so stretched.

At Mangawhai Park, a Mangawhai Park Steering Committee has been set up and is working to record the interests of the many organisations that have or seek a place on this 34 hectare piece of Council land. Previous Councils leased a hectare of this land to the Mangawhai Museum, and a further 2.7 hectares to the promoters of an Activity Zone, which includes a playground and skate park. There is a group seeking to set up an art gallery on the site, another promoting walking tracks. The ambulance service has decided to relocate to this park, and fire services are considering doing the same. All three park projects have a common thread. They are in parks that can provide space for a number of activities, each of which can share certain facilities like common entrances, carparking, kitchen facilities and ablution blocks. They can share services, like cleaning, field maintenance, administration, and security. All projects like these need good planning from an early stage if the Council land on which they are located is to be used efficiently. They also need cooperation between activity groups, with each adopting a sharing philosophy. As the owner of the land, Council can facilitate the process. Council can also be a contributor, not only of the land but perhaps being the sponsor of the common areas like carparks or the provider of park maintenance or ablution blocks. Both Memorial Park and Mangawhai Park are in the early stage of their next phases of development. Planning is well underway in the case of Mangawhai Park, cooperation between activities is being promoted, shared services are under discussion, and Council is expecting to engage further with the Steering Group in the next few months. Fundraising Activities The fundraising campaign launched by Selwyn Park School and supported by some of our businesses comes to an end this month. The Dargaville Westpac Person of the Year 2014 is a new initiative, where we can vote for one of six people who have been nominated for this honour. It costs a dollar a vote, but is for a worthy cause.

Spirits not dampened at ORT

Hawks play for fallen mate

Howling winds and driving rain caused a power cut and a day’s postponement of the final dress rehearsal for Otamatea Repertory Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz. However, even the storm couldn’t dampen spirits for long, says director, Peter Flower.

 by Colin Patterson

Otamatea Hawks rugby took to the field on Saturday with their focus on the match, and on a salute to reserve grade hooker Jordan Kemp, 17, who collapsed during a rugby game the previous Saturday and died later in hospital.

p Members of the Otamatea Hawks meet last week to talk about the death of fellow player Jordan Kemp

p Dorothy (Kayla Joyce) and Toto (Pixie) in Munchkinland, are helped along their way by Glinda, the Good Witch of the North (Margot Christie). The Wicked Witch of the West attempts to foil them (Suzanne Lappin-Cripps)

The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West, to earn his help. The wellknown score includes some of the best loved songs in musical theatre. ‘The Wizard of Oz’ opened for an eight-show season on July 12 at the Maungaturoto theatre. Tickets are available online at www.ort.org.nz or at Tony’s Lotto Shop in Maungaturoto. ¢

“After all, the story of the wizard begins with a storm in Kansas — a twister, strong enough to lift Dorothy’s house and start her adventures. “Everything is coming together. We have a very strong cast and technical team. It is a must-see event, and perfectly timed for the school holidays.” The Wizard of Oz, adapted from the book by Frank L Baum, is well-known and loved by many. When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical Land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow, who needs a brain, a Tin Man, missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion, who wants courage.

Jordan played for Auckland Grammar School last year but returned home after finishing school. “He turned up for all our training sessions — the reserves and the premiers trained together. He was a quiet unassuming lad who just wanted to play.” said coach Dean Kenny. He says Jordan had just started a new job and bought a new car. Then tragedy struck and his death hit the club hard. “It was a freak accident. It’s shaken up some of the youngsters.” Mr Kenny says the club called a meeting of all the players at the start of the week. “The club asked for the

Special Edition • 15th July 2014 • Dargaville

Kaipara’s ‘Gas Man’ delivers the goods week making sure that those vital bottles of preserved power get to their destinations, with deliveries as far afield as Aranga, Brynderwyn, and even close to the tip of Tinopai’s isolated peninsula. Indeed, having a hub for gas supply is a great thing for tourism – just one of the many strands which make the story of LPG far more than just one of instant heat. Caravans with gas fridges, holidaymakers cooking BBQs by the lakes, anglers frying up their catch on board boats… all stop in at Gas and Tyre to see Mike and get their bottles filled. In a way, he’s an ambassador for the region – and so long as we have this qualified, certified manager with his hand on the tap, we can be assured that the flow of gas to homes, farms and business will continue, uninterrupted and dependable.

the region. As well as making sure homes are toasty warm, bacon and eggs get cooked in the morning, and hot water is there on tap, Mike is also a keen apiarist (that’s a bee keeper) in his spare time. He says that it’s been a surprise to find out all the areas of life where gas is vitally needed – not just in BBQs and califonts, but on board boats, in campervans, in commercial clothes dryers... even in the forges of blacksmiths and farriers crafting tools and horse shoes! His Gas and Tyre fleet trucks can easily cover 250 kilometers per truck per

The sight of Gas and Tyre’s gas delivery trucks plying the highways and byways of the Kaipara district is a familiar one for local residents – and for many the busy little white trucks represent a vital lifeline to heat, warmth and business success. Gas Distribution Manager Mike Fox is the man tasked with keeping the LPG flowing for a huge number of customers Kaipara wide, and he takes the responsibility in his hands very seriously indeed. After all, a missed delivery of some other products is a mere disappointment. For Mike’s customers, a missed delivery could mean the difference between cozy

warmth and cold showers! That’s why he makes sure that every bottle on every run gets to where it’s going, building a reliable reputation for the Dargaville-based company. Mike has been in charge of the thriving gas side of the Gas and Tyre equation for five years now, having come up ‘through the ranks’ to become a familiar face around

FROM THE DEPTHS...TO THE HEIGHT OF COMFORT We all appreciate the comforts of gas in the modern home – warm living spaces, boundless hot water and the ability to cook up a restaurant - quality meal being just a few. But where does the miracle product we call LPG come from? And what lies beneath that little three letter acronym? In New Zealand we are blessed with an abundant natural gas supply, centred around the gas fields of the Taranaki region and its coastline. Three big fields, the Maui, Pohokura and Kapuni are the main storehouses of natural gas, recovered from deep underground by a careful process of drilling and extraction. The greatest care is taken to make sure that gas supply does not come at the cost of the natural environment, for the Taranaki region is one of the most picturesque and biodiverse in the world! Most folks will be familiar with the famous Maui gas field, dominated by the image of floating drilling platforms – a home away from home for a dedicated workforce. Pipelines take the gas from the unmanned Maui B platform (installed

in 1993 to ensure steady supply) to the manned Maui A platform, and then on to shore. Natural gas lies hidden under the earth for many millions of years, produced by the same processes which render oil and coal. Plants from prehistoric times stored the power of the sun in their leaves and branches, and when they died some of these plants were buried and subjected to the immense heat and pressure beneath the earth. This ‘thermogenic’ method renders vast underground reserves of natural gas, which can be tapped and refined into a clean-burning fuel for homes and businesses. While natural gas is considered a nonrenewable resource, in that it cannot be renewed in a human time frame, it is plentiful enough that, at current levels

^ An immense investment in engineering has been put into extracting precious natural gas from beneath the seabed, both around the world and here in New Zealand.

of use, even the gas fields we know about today will last more than two and a half centuries. Amazingly, natural gas was first used in 500 BC by the early Chinese Imperial civilisation. When Chinese miners discovered gas venting from the earth, they were able to construct pipes from bamboo

to harness its combustive power, using the gas to boil seawater and thus extract salt for use in preserving food. It wasn’t until the early 1800s that western civilisation replicated this feat on an industrial scale, beginning the modern application of LPG as we know it.

The power source for modern homes This year at New Zealand’s biggest home shows, the star of the event will not be a celebrity chef, a master builder or the latest television renovation show’s host families. No – the star of the show will be a versatile and clean-burning fuel which drives some of the most efficient – and innovative – new appliances. From kitchens to bathrooms and beyond, gas power has advanced in leaps and bounds, creating home innovations from the superbly practical to the wildly artistic. In the kitchen, gas has always been the cooking medium of choice for top chefs. As more and more average home cooks look to up their game, in response to the advice and onscreen presence of superstars like Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal, the demand for shining stainless steel kitchens kitted out with gas has grown. Chefs know that gas is easy to control, easy to regulate and tactile to work with, achieving more precise results. When you’re cooking for 100 at a time, it’s the only choice! In the bathroom gas is seen as a brilliant way to ditch the old hot water cylinder, and enjoy endless hot showers and baths. Even gas califont hot tubs and spa pools are now available, with no drain on the monthly power bill and a very therapeutic, even heat. Bliss!

But it’s as a heating source that gas has really come into its own of late, with modern flued gas fireplaces the option of choice for eco-consicious builders and architects. The amount of heat generated by a modern gas fire or gas heating system compares very favourably even to the modern electric heat pump, with the added aesthetic advantage of beautiful, cozy flames to watch instead of television! Designers have turned the flames of gas fires into a multitude of interesting shapes and forms – it’s even possible to buy a gas-fire ‘flame tornado’ encased in a glass tube. When considering options for your home, gas is definitely a path to ponder. And with the guarantee of regular and uninterrupted supply, gas compares favourably to electric power in yet another way – if the lines go down, those who have opted for a full gas suite of appliances can still enjoy hot water, gourmet food and a cozy living environment!

^ The best chefs insist on gas - the cornerstone of a modern kitchen

^ With endless hot water from gas, a bath is even more relaxing!

Now we’re CookiNg with gAS Honey ginger teriyaki rotisserie cHicken You’ll need – A fresh or defrosted whole chicken, (for the baste) butter, teriyaki marinade, manuka honey, fresh ginger root, butter (for the stuffing) whole onions, crushed garlic, a little more ginger root, teriyaki marinade and butter. Method Prepare the chicken overnight in a metal bowl. Spoon over teriyakai marinade sauce, a little grated ginger root, and crushed garlic. Cover, and wait until the next evening to fire up the bbq. Stuff the chicken with quarters of fresh red or white onion, smothered in garlic and ginger paste along with a generous amount of softened butter. Use skewers to close and seal the chicken so that this stuffing is not lost during the rotisserie process. Place the chicken on the rotisserie with the BBQ on low heat. Melt butter in a small bowl, then add grated ginger root, teriyaki marinade sauce, crushed garlic and cracked pepper to taste. As the chicken slowly rotates, brush this mixture over all exposed portions – be generous! regular re-applications will give the finished chicken a delicious flavour and a crispy skin, while the stuffing inside will ensure tender, well-cooked meat. the key here is low, even heat – the kind only a gas powered rotisserie BBQ can provide!

Hoisin cHilli stir-fry this dish relies on the power of gas to really turn up the heat! Professional Asian cuisine chefs would never use anything but a sizzling hot wok over a pure gas flame, after all. You’ll need – A medley of fresh vegetables. try using string beans, baby corn, mushrooms, capsicum slices, bok choy, thinly chopped carrots and broccoli. if you’re not a vegetarian, you can add fresh chicken breast, lean pork or beef to this dish too. Also grab some crushed garlic, some hot chili peppers (like jalapeños), hoisin sauce, and soy sauce. Method get that wok super hot. Some people may like meat in this dish – if so, brown the meat first, adding a pinch of ground pepper to taste. Using a good quality oil is important, as you don’t want too much oil, but you must also keep the wok sizzling, not dry. when it’s time to add the veges, you’ll want that wok spitting hot. toss and stir them with just a little oil, a splash of soy sauce and some pungent crushed garlic. only when the veg are cooked through should you add a generous helping of dark hoisin sauce, sealing in the flavour. the key to a good stir fry is to keep stirring – don’t let it lie. with good heat and even cooking this doesn’t take long to get from chopping board to plate. if you’re adding meat, re-introduce it just before the sauce goes in, to give it a lovely flavourful coating. remember, you don’t have to make it too spicy, but a good handful of jalapeños will give this dish some real bite! You may like to serve this dish over steamed rice, or cook some rice or egg noodles separately, tossing them into the wok with the vegetables once they are ‘al dente’.

Perfect PoacHed eggs this recipe also relies on the very easy to control nature of a gas cooker. with a little practice you will be able to turn out perfect, restaurant quality poached eggs, runny on the inside and light on the outside. Use the freshest egg you can, and also put aside just a pinch of salt and a capful of white wine vinegar (not any other kind – this is the secret ingredient). Bring a little water to the boil in a saucepan – about enough to submerge the egg if it were standing up. Bring the water to the boil, then add a pinch of salt. Now, turn down the gas until the flame barely tickles the base of the pan. Add a capful of white wine vinegar, then take a whisk and create a small ‘whirlpool’ right in the middle of the pan. this need not be too vigourous – just enough to hold the egg in place. Crack the egg into a smaller bowl or a teacup first, then pour it in to the ‘eye’ of the whirlpool. the vinegar, matched with just the right heat, will form it into a perfect ball. turn the heat up again until the water simmers, finish cooking the egg, then lift it from the water with a slotted spoon. Perfect!

Well, wen Boss an’ me went upa race ta chek that stock after tha huge rain and wind we bin havin (an’ wot duz Sharlene meen wen she says it wuz rainin’ cats and dogs eh?) — anyway, Boss sed he was still lookin’ forward ta the rugby an’ we’d get tha widescreen back ina woolshed so our mates froma pub can come an wotch too, but he sed that Brassil game was a reel eye opener.

After the storm passes Well it has certainly been a case of battening down the hatches right across Northland for the past week, and looking at the meteorological charts, we’ll still have more rain as winter moves towards spring. The large high parked over the Pacific to the east of New Zealand was the culprit, stalling fronts over us with the subsequent deluge, flooding, road closures, and so sadly, a loss of life. There has been substantial land damage as well as damage to property and the disruption of rural life. Last Sunday I drove between Dargaville and Kaikohe and the storm impact was huge. Along streams that feed the Mangakahia and Northern Wairoa, the erosion is horrific and it’s

plain to see the thousand’s of tons of silt that has been shifted out onto the flats by the swollen waters. There was surface flooding aplenty and we saw one car washed off the road at Mangakahia. News reports have of course told us there was a similar situation across many parts of the north, where at one point some 60 rural roads were adversely affected. On the trip we made, the road had been covered in at least 15 areas by impassable waters,

p As the river flowed over the Kirikopuni Bridge at Tangiteroria, the road became impassable to most

there is a silver lining — a positive — to some dark storm clouds. On the western side, Kaipara is getting water tables up to where they should be after two droughts and there is also the fact that, interestingly enough in the depths of winter, is it is very warm. Grass is growing well. It might by wind battered and flattened to the ground in places but growth is vigorous. As I have mentioned, such weather events are not new to Northland and farmers have learned nothing if not to be resilient. At Tangiteroria and Hikurangi

with the levels amply indicated by the flood debris trapped in flattened fence lines and silt on the rising ground of the farms alongside. This latest weather event brought back memories of a similar storm six or seven years back when on the eastern side of Northland 400ml of rain fell in a few hours. It appears then that we can expect that every few years Northland is going to get these weather conditions. The region has a history of now and again dishing out huge rain storms. However,

p Farm land just outside of Tangiteroria fully submerged

there are designated floodplains that experience up to two or even three floods in a year which seriously interrupts farming operations. That subsequent drainage systems have improved has been amply demonstrated by the amount of water that has receded in some areas, but there are outlets like Kaihu River, Mangakahia and Dargaville where choke points see the waters backing up and causing damage. In the days to come most farmers will get on with looking after stock, feeding supplements and waiting for water to recede. But then comes the question: What will Government do? There’s always the possibility of providing subsidies for, or provision of work gangs, for repairs to things like fencing but history tells us that Wellington has long pockets and

short arms. It doesn’t do for the rural community to expect too much assistance from the government. After all, it is all part of the free market policy. It is not so long ago, after another blow from Mother Nature, that the then Minister of Agriculture Jim Anderton met farmers at Hikurangi to observe damage from the deluge and basically said government would not intervene. However, where farmers are finding large problems, I direct them to the excellent work of the Northland Rural Support Trust. To sum up though, if I had a choice of farming in the South Island with snow and severe low temperatures in winter, I would choose a Northland storm — because we are always aware of huge stock losses in southern storms. I’d rather be in Northland, wild weather or not. ¢

Vision of the owl

The guest speaker at the July 18 meeting of Kaipara Greypower will be Maggie Barry, National’s electorate MP for North Shore. The public is invited to come along to hear Maggie Barry tell us what the National Party plans for our part of the world should they be re-elected. The August meeting of Grey Power will be a candidates meeting when the public will be able to ask all the candidates for Northland what they offer when their party gets into power. Grey Power is strictly a non-political Society but welcomes all political parties to

are on the roll and then to exercise their vote next September. This is probably a good time to examine the Government’s performance in our district during their term in office. Our MP Mike Sabin has been quite vocal in asking for the Matakohe bridge problem to be resolved, and it would appear that his concerns have fallen on deaf ears. One thing the Government could have done is resume Regional Support that could be used to bring more employment by attracting new industry to the area. A lot has been said that ‘value’ should be added to the raw products produced before they leave the district. The question could be asked that with the right people in charge and with Regional Support could we see more sawmills, horticulture processors developed, and possibly factories for swamp kauri

share their vision and policies at our meetings. The Grey Power Federation of New Zealand Associations advances, supports and protects the welfare and wellbeing of all New Zealanders more particularly the 50+. The most recent major achievement is working with Pulse Energy and obtaining discounted electricity tariffs for members. One of our members has enjoyed a 30% reduction in electricity costs over a 2 month period. The elections are not far away and everybody is urged to ensure that they

products. Grey Power supports the newly re-established Dargaville Development Board and wishes them well “to get things moving again.” Grey Power congratulates the KDC Commissioners on the successes that they have achieved to date. The KDC, as a legal identity, now has legal rates levied that are collectable and the debt is reducing. However the Commissioners have failed the ratepayers and residents in not bringing to account the officials that gave the Council incorrect advice, the councillors who made the wrong decisions by voting for them, and the Govt. Departments that failed to check to ensure all was well and legal. All these people should have been before the Court months ago. More reports are just simply delaying justice. ¢
