New to the festival this year, the Indigenous Exhibition, sponsored by BMO Bank of Montreal, recognizes the tradition of gathering and celebrates Indigenous artists and communities in a modern context to share in the richness of their arts. Opening with a welcome blessing and opening reception, the events will feature Indigenous artists in an authentic marketplace and art exhibition. The Indigenous Feast is the festival’s inaugural celebration of Indigenous cuisine, bringing a festive atmosphere to Ambleside Landing. Opening with a blessing of the food, visitors feast their senses on a live blues performance by Murray Porter and a curated menu from Salmon n’ Bannock. The menu includes traditional dishes such as barbecued sockeye salmon, poached halibut, smoked oolichan in a blanket, bison berry ribs, three sisters salad and dessert. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages included.
