Norfolk State Quick Facts The Spartans fell to 3-2 on Sunday following a loss at UNC Greensboro. Senior Devante Carter had a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds, and senior J.J. Matthews contributed 14 points as UNCG rallied from a three-point deficit at the half. Carter leads the team in scoring and is one of the top scorers in the MEAC at 17.0 points per game. He also owns the distinction of leading his squad in both rebounds (7.0) and assists (4.2). Sophomore Daryl Anderson is the only other player in double figures at 11.0 points. Nevertheless, the Spartans are playing great defense again this year, limiting teams to 36 percent shooting. They are ranked in the top 30 in the nation, in addition to ranking in the top 25 in 3-point field goal percentage (41.5). UNC Wilmington Quick Facts The Seahawks are coming off a 78-58 loss at Ole Miss last Saturday, a game in which UNCW fell behind by 20 at the half but played the Rebels even in the second half. Troy and UNC Asheville have fallen victims to the Seahawks this year as part of their 3-3 overall record. They score nearly 80 points per game, with Jaylen Sims taking care of business to the tune of 24.2 points per game, which ranks in the top 10 nationally. Ty Gadsden (16.2 points) is one of five players in double figures along with Mike Okauru (12.3 points), Jake Boggs (10.8) and Joe Pridgen (10.7). Like NSU, UNCW can shoot it from deep, hitting 39 percent from beyond the arc while averaging nearly nine 3-pointers per game. The Seahawks shoot nearly 47 percent overall.
