NSW RFS HOSTS THE STATE’S COVID-19 RESPONSE The State Operations Centre at NSW RFS Headquarters spent six months as the focal point for the multi-agency response to the 2019/20 bush fire season. Less than a month after the fire season ended, the same room was again full of busy people working on a statewide emergency – this time in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since COVID-19 arrived on our shores at the start of the year, more than 4,000 people in NSW have caught the virus and tragically 55 people, at time of writing, have died.
