Pablo Neruda´s Isla Negra Museum + Cultural & Historic Sight + Poetry & Unique Designs The place was originally called Las Gaviotas (Sea gulls). The poet “Negra” for the color of the rocks, and “Isla” perhaps renamed it: because over there he could isolate himself to write. On his return to Chile from Europe, in 1937, he was looking for a place to dedicate himself to his Canto General, a great book about American history and nature. “The wild coast of Isla Negra, with the tumultuous oceanic movement, allowed me to surrender with passion to the venture of my new song” – he annotated in his memories.
“... It was in the afternoon we arrived on horseback to those solitudes...” – remembered the poet in his book. “A house in the sand”. – “... Maule Valley Overflight + Helicopter Overflight + Altos de Lircay National Park The Maule River Valley is one of the highlights of the national wine circuit and is home to more hectares of vineyards than any other place in Chile. Its winegrowing tradition dates back to Colonial times, which is when the first vines were planted. Today, the valley has three million hectares of vineyards covering the provinces of Talca, Linares and Cauquenes, which makes it Chile’s largest wine producing region. Many local wineries offer tours complete with tastings focused on the diferent grape varieties that are grown there. But make no mistake about it- the valley has more to offer than just vineyards, including a stunning landscape framed by the Andes. Visit the 12,000 hectare Altos de Lircay National Park, which was opened in 1996 and boasts a beautiful native forest of roble, lenga and coigüe. It is best to visit it in spring and fall when the weather is good and there are fewer tourists.

To find the best terroir, he undertook meticulous soil studies and analyses all around South America. Of course, he ended up choosing Chile.
