A Year in the life of Nunsmere

What a year it has been here at Nunsmere … with Pumpkins;

Queen Mary; Mushrooming; Fund raising and of course, our absolutely stunning refurbishments

.

CHARITY WORK

PUMPKIN CLUB

QUEEN MARY

Our nominated charity is The Winsford Neuromuscular Centre which provides vital services and employment for people with muscular dystrophy across the North West and beyond. Muscular dystrophy is a condition which progressively weakens muscles and for most people this means getting on with life in a wheelchair.

This little pumpkin weighed in at 5.7kg – (that’s 12.5 lbs in ‘real’ money to you and me).

The Queen Mary commemorative weekend was fantastic. The comments from all our guests who attended this weekend have been amazing. So much so that guests are persuading us to run the weekend again to commemorate the maiden voyage – watch this space!! Pictured is The Brocklebank Tug – berthed at Merseyside Maritime Museum, named after Sir Aubrey Brocklebank who designed not only Nunsmere Hall but the RMS Queen Mary 1 too.

We are very pleased to support the Centre and pictured are some of the F\FOLVWV SUHVHQWLQJ WKH FKHTXH IRU monies raised in our sponsored ride from Tytherington to Nunsmere a grand total of £1877.00 which, with the money raised from the 60’s Charity Ball, makes a grand total of £2600.00

Whilst Mark is trying to convince HYHU\RQH WKDW KH KDV JUHHQ ÀQJHUV and grew it from seed – a little bird tells us that it was kindly donated to the Huntley family who spent many a happy hour carving it in time for Halloween.

CHESHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST We are delighted to have joined the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. This will enable us, in conjunction with the Trust, to develop an ongoing focused programme to H[SORUH WKH ZLGH UDQJLQJ ÁRUD and fauna habitats in the grounds of Nunsmere.
