Who needs television when you have YouTube? Youtube has become such a staple for me that it has replaced my needs for watching TV. Being user generated content only, it brings a whole new level of entertainment where new ideas are embraced and not judged by those who think they know what the viewers want. Nothing is censored, nothing is filtered: creativity is free. Facebook is a place where everything comes together for me - and it remains till this day the only social networking site that I use. To me, it’s like an extension of real life, where it effectively reflects my thoughts in the form of words, photos and videos, etc. In a way, I supposed I’ve come to over rely on Facebook but hey, all my friends are there. Facebook is where I connect with the world. A place where... I can be me. Instagram is my favourite social media platform because I like taking photos. I prefer capturing my precious moments in the form of photographs instead of expressing it in words or so. Furthermore, Instagram lets me share these photos that I take, with my friends who ‘follow’ me. What’s more, with apps like vscocam, your photos can look nicer!
Twitter is a suitable platform for me to speak my mind and also, at the same time, lets me rant and ramble on whenever I feel like it. It is almost similar to that of talking to a shrink, with no one to judge and complain about my own, well, complaints. I even get my news there! Kiss goodbye to dirtied, black fingers from reading the newspaper because microblogging gets your point across without having to read a whole essay, and well, it’s convenient to say the least.
EDITOR’S NOTE
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE
EDITOR’S NOTE
“When you turn on your desktop, what is the first thing you do?” Just by going around, asking this question to five different people, I already have three of them saying, “log into Facebook lor”. What would your answer have been 10 years ago? Open up “Paint”? Or probably play a game like Minesweeper or Tetris? In just a span of a few years, social media has changed the way we live. We see how much people use it - when they’re in the train, when they’re in lectures and meetings, when they’re caught in an awkward situation and more. These actions are in constant use amongst the youths, not just in Singapore but also across the globe. Social media is what unites us all. It enables you to talk to people whom you’re afraid to talk to in real life. It creates that little ounce of excitement when you see a controversy happening – when people leave hate comments on each other’s profiles. We would all talk about it
with our peers the next day or it might even be a conversation starter amongst strangers! Most importantly, it has given us hope in long distance relationships because of the help we get from applications like WhatsApp and Skype. However, some of us are too dependent and addicted to Social Media that we don’t realize certain problems it has created. In this issue, my team and I will bring to you different stories related to the social media. You can find out what applications people use to make their photos on instagram look more “hipster-ish”, what different hashtags (#) mean, play a game of hotdogs vs legs and more! Also, we wouldn’t leave out the other perspectives of social media. We dig deep into topics that concern trolling, privacy and copyright issues, online predators and how it can ruin relationships. At the end of the day, does social media leave a positive or negative effect on society?

DID YOU KNOW? How powerful is the Social Media now? Powerful enough to help you find your soulmate
@NRWHDH
Meet Denis Lafargue and Elizabeth Wisdom While there are certain websites on the Internet that allows you to meet people online and get to know them, miraculously, Instagram has done the same thing! This is the love story between Elizabeth Wisdom and Denis Lafargue.
. 1Elizabeth
posted a beautiful landscape picture of Carter Lake, Oregon, on her Instagram profile. Denis then left a comment, which eventually led to some harmless flirting done by the pair.
6
. 2The 3.Elizabeth couple then started chatting on Instagram: leaving comments on each other’s pictures and so forth. Not long after that, they gave out their numbers via Instadirect, a relatively new application that allows Instagram users to chat privately with one another.
then decided it was time they met, after all those months of communicating via social media. Their feelings were so strong that Elizabeth flew out to New Orleans just so to meet Denis. Being that the foundation and beginning to their relationship was Instagram, the couple documented every single moment of their lives together on their respective profiles: When Elizabeth became Denis’ “Instalady” i.e. girlfriend, when Denis proposed to her, when the couple got married and so on.
How about you? would you want your fairytale to start via social media too?
Nur azura, 21
“
It’s interesting but risky. People can always like about themselves online so i’d rather stick to the old school method and find my soulmate through knowing them through my group of friends, school or work. I’d rather not use the social media to help me.
”
Nurul hadainah, 23
“
Finding love or ‘the one’ through social media is a ‘cheat’ to me. It’s just browsing through accounts of random people, looking at their photos and picking the ones that are attractive to talk to. For me, finding love should be surrended to fate. Like meeting by chance at a random cafe, falling in love with your high school sweetheart or so. If you’re fated to meet, the whole universe will eventually let you when it’s time.
”
muhd hazrie, 22
5
“
I wouldn’t mind getting to know a girl through social media. You can chat with her first to find out what kind of person she is but it eliminates the mystery because Facebook profile lists out a person’s likes and dislikes, pictures of her with her friends and more. So technically, without chatting with the person, you can already know a lot about her life.

THE NETIZENS In the world of Social Media, you will meet many different kinds of people. Here are some of the more common ones whom you’ll come across
@AFRINARRIFIN
@NRWHDH
THE SELFIES People who like to take selfies
THE #TAGGERS People who hashtag too much
One may call it ordinary and natural for people to take pictures of themselves but when done excessively, it just goes to show just how much in love you are with yourself. Apparently this lot decided that the mirror just doesn’t do justice any longer; people must know of the many different kinds of facial expressions a face can do!
The obsession with hashtagging every single word was amusing initially, but however, also so quickly lost its humour. #It #is #not #cool #to #over #step #boundaries, do you hear me?
THE MOTIVATOR People with too many inspirational quotes.
THE FOODIE People with too many food photos Now, now, let’s get a hold of ourselves here. Everyone loves food. You love to eat, I love to eat. Food is life. Say you went to a new café, and gave their new dish a try and wanted to Instagram it, go well ahead and snap away. Tell me though; are MacDonald’s and KFC that extravagant and prestigious that you have to update your social media every day to say you had a double cheeseburger or cheese fries for lunch? Or maybe wanton noodles from the Kopitiam downstairs for dinner? I think you forgot the milk from when you had breakfast this morning too, oh dear!
Either these people have read too much poetry or they think that quotes might possibly give an illusion that they are far more intelligent than they actually are. Quotes can be relatable but once used too often, it loses meaning and you realize that no one actually pays attention to you or your quotes any longer.
THE CAT LADY People with too many cat photos There are animal lovers… and there are cat fanatics. Not only will they incessantly spam your Instagram news feed with countless photos of cats, but with the new function, you can also watch numerous videos containing 15 seconds of cats’ meows, yarn-catching plays and stares. Do you realize that’s pretty much it? Yet, the life of a cat seems to be more adventurous than most human beings.
10
THE ABSTRACT PHOTOGRAPHER People who like to take sky photos
THE LOVEBIRDS Loveydovey couples online It’s okay to show your other half your love for him or her during certain times. We get it – you want to show the world that you’re in love. However, don’t flood our newsfeed with your posts every second. It makes us want to grab the dustbin at the corner of our room and… puke.
These people are so in love with the environment that they feel the need to post photos of the sky, the scenery and any landscapes. You will rarely see photos of them in the background – if you’re lucky, you’ll get to find out what they look like! any longer; people must know of the many different kinds of facial expressions a face can do!
THE HATER People who hate everything The Hater can mean two things: A person who hates everything or a person who loves leaving hate comments on other users’ social media networks. The person who hates everything is the one whose world is annoyed by everyone else on the social media. They hate people who take selfies, people who ask stupid questions, people who post too many food photos, people who tweet about football and so much more.
THE FITNESS GURU People who post pictures of their body
What do you tell these people? Just buzz off your social media networks if they hate everything then.
Girls, if you want to stare at some abs – you might want to follow The Fitness Guru. These guys post workout photos, gym photos and most importantly: photos of their muscular body. For the guys, you could find girls like this too. However, daily updates of what they do to keep themselves healthy might demoralize you a little… especially if you’re a foodie. So look out!
THE FASHIONISTAS People who always take outfit photos This person’s profile is full of pictures of him or her in the most stylish clothes, usually, with the same background or someplace nice (and hipster-ish). Other users tend to look forward to these photos because they want to follow the trend. However, some… put in effort too, when they’re wearing flip-flops, shorts and a plain top.

Popular youths on social media
Social Media is the ultimate platform used by the younger generation to make a name for themselves and while competition remains stiff, these local bloggers have managed to achieve a status for themselves

Naomi Neo (naomineo.blogspot.sg), is currently titled as Gushcloud’s youngest “Celebrity Blogger” at 18 years of age. Since 2009, she has taken a liking to writing her thoughts and views on social media platforms. Her very first blog post that went viral was an entry titled “Mothers” in late 2010 and this gave her the push to take blogging a little more seriously. Since then, many youths have claimed Naomi’s entries to be relatable and inspiring, which led her to be the blogger she is today. Although blogging is what she’s known for, Naomi has stretched her reach to society even further by utilizing other various social media sites like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. Naomi currently has a Facebook page that garnered 47,197 likes so far, aside from her personal profile alone, which is followed by 77,426 people. She updates her followers whenever she writes a new entry on her blog.
12
In addition, because of her growing fame, Naomi gets sponsorships that entitle her to write reviews and advertisements on her social media sites. She occasionallyposts random videos on YouTube too – be it a Do It Yourself (DIY), hair or makeup tutorial or vlogging about her daily activities. 23,707 people have subscribed to her channel as of this date. However, Naomi has attained herself quite a number of haters over the years but she goes on with her life still as positive as ever. She takes the criticisms as an opportunity to advise her readers on how to deal with negativity being directed at them. Young girls look up to Naomi as a form of role model and while social media may well be her strongest passion yet, there is no telling of the future as Naomi matures into an adult. We may possibly be looking at the new Xiaxue!

Local beauty and lifestyle blogger and model Eunice Annabel (euniceannabel.blogspot.sg), 20, is currently studying Apparel Design and Merchandising at Temasek Polytechnic. Initially, Eunice only started blogging as a hobby and took up blogshop modelling as a way to earn extra income but as she was further exposed in the industry, she found opportunities that would only come once in a lifetime and decided to seize them. As blogging eventually becomes a permanent part of her daily routine, Eunice joined Gushcloud – a blog advertising company that handles all of her social media profiles. Her rise in popularity began when she emerged as the winner of ‘Vaunt 6’, a youth community driven modelling competition that showcases students’ talents both in front and behind the camera. It was organized by ClickNetwork.tv: a site more famously known to feature Xiaxue’s Guide To Life, Budget Barbie and Chick vs Dick. This was the kick-start of her new social life. When entering national modelling competitions, New Paper New Face in 2012, Eunice managed to get into the top 20 and this further increased her exposure, knowledge and skills of modelling.
Images: euniceannabel.blogspot.sg
She was then selected as one of the three local bloggers to become the ambassador of the cosmetic company, Maybelline, in late 2012 till mid 2013. Eunice was also invited to take part in the International Sunsilk Blogger event from 9th to 11th May 2013. She was one of the ten lucky bloggers from all around the world who had the chance to meet the Sunsilk hair experts and had a photoshoot with acclaimed photographer Anna Wolf. Handpicked by MediaCorp itself, Eunice walked The Asia Style Collection Runway as a guest appearance. This stage was shared with international sensations like Korean girl groups, 2NE1 and Girls’s Generation. Eunice was also recently featured in styleXstyle TV episode 7, co-hosting the show with another blogger, Rachel Wong. Her latest conquest is scoring a role in Jack Neo’s upcoming film, ‘The Lion Men”. As she goes about her life, Eunice still makes time for her top priority – blogging. She never fails to incessantly keep her social media sites updated and alive. Eunice has come a long way from being just another girl-next-door and we hope she continues to be an inspiration to other girls.

1.
Write like a real person. Take for example Naomi Dunford of IttyBiz, a business blogger, who is famous for her sharp tongue or otherwise, foul mouth. Rather than coming across as somewhat of a pro using more of a formal tone in your entries, try to instil your way of speech into your writing, thus allowing your readers to have a better chance in developing a connection with you.
3.
Make it personal. No matter the intention of a blog, it always needs a touch of originality to it. We don’t mean plastering your face all over the site but add your own flavour to the mix, and perhaps readers might possibly stay for more.
5. Write about what you love. Have passion in your topic and you will find that the words will flow right out of you!
7.
Learn from others. There are many bloggers from all around the world and they are available right at your fingertips. Take lessons from them and be innovative and creative with how you can improve your own blog!
9. Don’t ramble. Nowadays, we want everything to be quick and on-point. If your message can be conveyed into 140 characters on Twitter, you can definitely be concise within your entries too.

10 tips on how to be a better Blogger
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE
Be interesting. Give a reason why people should click on your site and start reading your posts. What makes your blog stand out from the many others? Your way of writing could be one of the reasons why. Content means very little if your audience can’t even read the first line without wanting to switch tabs.
4. Stay true to your blog. Starting a blog is easy, but maintaining it is not. Blogging takes time and effort so if you find yourself losing interest in writing along the way, readers will do the same.
6. Snap, snap, snap! Wordy and lengthy texts turn people off, so what you can do is add images in your entries to enhance its visual appeal.
8. Be quotable. This is an effective way to get people to remember you, although they might not even know your name.
10. Appearances & Design. Even with excellent content, your layout needs to be at least of standard. Visual appeal is just as important for blogs as they are in real life!

THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE WORK HARD. DREAM BIG.
Dreams do not become reality through magic; they are merely the key to passing into the reality of action. Anyone can be a locksmith and unlock the door to their dreams; all it takes is a first step in the right direction. Eight years ago, a master key was turned. Eight years later, Sean Kevin shares his story. During his early days, Sean got to know a group of friends from part-time acting in MediaCorp. After spending three months working together on the same production, he came to realize his own vast interest and passion in the area of acting. “I asked myself a question. Will I have future acting opportunities after this production? And my answer to that was ‘uncertain’.” The future ahead had seemed bleak, but passion gave Sean the courage to carry on his pursuit for it. Along with the group of film enthusiasts that he had gotten to know from the production, these friends founded The Changing Point Productions (TCP) – the nation’s first online TV station for the tech-savvy generation – in 2006. They were all inexperienced back then, but they dared to dream and pursued that shared passion together. While TCP targets mainly youths and young adults, it strives to be a channel for all ages
TCP
and has garnered a large following from primary school students with its comedy series. The online TV station often explores never-tried-before genres for fresh film concepts. “I always put myself in our viewers’ shoes,” says Sean. “If I’m a viewer, I’ll like to watch from a spectrum of genres and not just one. The main aim (of TCP) was to write and produce our own scripts, and to participate in our films. This way, I could carry on my passion and at the same time, keep in close contact with this group of friends.” Eight years down the road, that group of friends has grown into a hearty family of fifty that spreads across eleven generations of TCP artistes. “We were filming one day and realized that we needed more characters for the show,” says Sean as he explains the rationale behind the first open audition that saw about twenty odd attendees. “Looking back, it was a ‘wow’ to us because we inexperienced and could only produce very amateurish films, but I guess that first successful auditions pushed us to do even better.” Following that first audition, TCP began its tradition of holding auditions twice a year to recruit new blood for the station’s productions - also providing a platform for youths who are

passionate about their acting dream. The auditions were later reduced to once per year, as the online station was unable to accommodate the large numbers flooding in. Unlike other businesses, TCP focuses on building a family – not profit – and that attractive feature has charmed many. “I’m a very realistic and practical person,” proclaimed Sean. “The first thing the artiste must possess is character. I believe that while acting can be trained over a period of time, character is not something within my control. If I feel that I can work with them, I will work hard for them. Vice versa, if I feel that the artiste may find it difficult to adapt to our culture, I won’t recruit them.” Classifying their artistes into two main categories, namely the ‘contracted artistes’ and the ‘non-contracted artistes’, TCP seeks to further brand and push their artistes to greater heights. They look forward to the day that these teens can carry their dreams to higher platforms such as MediaCorp productions and even independent or featured films. Each year, in recognition of their artistes’ efforts, TCP holds an Awards Ceremony that extends its invitation to all partners, friends and family members of the artistes. Besides the usual awards, TCP also gives out a ‘Special Recognition Award’ once in a while to artistes who have contributed on a significant whole. “I believe that every actor needs a form of
TCP
motivation to strive to greater heights, and our Awards Ceremony will spur them to hone their craft. I want all of my artistes to know that we value them as actors, and that an awards ceremony will give them a feel of confidence and importance to the team,” says Sean. In additional to that, the public also gets a chance to vote for their top 10 TCP artistes online. TCP is heavily dependent on social media as it helps them reach out to different viewers easily in today’s technology-driven society. Their online drama serials are usually uploaded onto YouTube and their official website, with their social media presences co-working closely to help promote the online station. They do not spend any funds on marketing, but have achieved the same results through shout-outs on Instagram, shares on Facebook, and retweets on Twitter. “Most of our viewers are here through retweets, and who search for local dramas on YouTube. Our viewers are the ones who have brought us so far,” says Sean. “I guess at the end of the day, I do make mistakes, and I acknowledge them. If there is an artiste that I feel I may have missed out on, I’ll personally contact them again. At the end of the day, if we’re fated to work together, we will.” Between dreams and reality, the only difference is our reluctance in making our dreams a reality and taking the first step. We hope to hear more from TCP as the years go by!

WHAT’S THE BIZZ ABOUT? Take a look at how Social Media has changed the world of business – these are the stories of small online business owners who have had humble beginnings and are in the process of achieving more @NRWHDH

THE BLOGSHOP owner:
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE
NURLIYANA, 19, STUDENT
lightningcherry.com Which girl doesn’t have a flair for fashion? Ever since the existence of Instagram came about, aspiring fashion blogg ers like Naomi Neo, Dalillah Ismail and Nur Fatii n are emerging, promoting clothing products from a variety of retailers.
clothes! I believe that people will buy from you when they see something nice and that your online shop is trustworthy. So I work hard to make sure that I do those things in order to get customers’ attraction,” she explains. There are two types of online blogshops – those that sell products from suppliers that they contacted and those that sell their own handcrafted labels.
This is why online blogshops have been a trend for the past few years amongst young girls. Not only is it relatively cheaper than the products sold in physical retail outlets, but it is also more convenient and easier for them to make purchases. Owning the perfect dress is only a click away now that online shopping is available.
Liyana’s online website, Lightningcherry.com, sells products that are provided by her supplier. This then leads to more complications for her, like coordinating with suppliers, ensuring her customers’ payments are in before she purchases them, packing and sending out the items and so on.
However, Liyana decided to take it to the next level. At only 19, she is the founder of Lightningcherry.com – an online website that sells apparels and accessories for both men and women.
Despite this, she still feels satisfied at the end of the day when she sees her website and social media accounts receiving positive feedbacks from her customers.
Their Instagram page has more than 6,000 followers hence, she decided that it was time to expand to more social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter in order to raise the awareness of the site. However, clothing shops are everywhere and easily available. Why isn’t Liyana afraid of not being able to sustain her business? “I feel that everyone needs clothes. Clothes are essential and you know girls… they can never have enough
“Social media allows you to interact with your customers – find out what they liked and didn’t like about your online store. It’s easier to improve on things from thereon and socializing with your customers is essential because you would want to make them feel welcomed and important to you. That way, they would come back for more because of the service and also, the product.” Social media has been helpful to Liyana in terms of gaining customers by creating awareness about her online store and products. It has allowed her to “test the waters” of opening a retail store which made her realize now that she would want to open a physical version of LightningCherry one day. 23

THE ONLINE BAKERY owner: Sharifah Saarah, 21, Undergraduate
The exquisite details and designs that were crafted into a form of dessert had always fascinated Saarah since young. She only started selling in January 2013, that too with the motivation from her mother. “I enjoyed making it but I never thought of selling it. My mother was the one who pushed me because people around me were telling me countless of times that my cupcakes were delicious and I should share it with others,” she explained. That was when she made use of the social media called “Instagram” and set up an account for her own online bakery called BakesInACup. Kick starting the business with just five simple flavours – Fudgy Brownie, Blueberry streusel, Red velvet, Oreo and Lemon. Currently, BakesInACup has 580 followers on Instagram at the moment but the baker still feels that she does have too much on her plate at times! A certain pool of her customers do not have Instagram to follow her: the Adult generation. “I had a Facebook page before but it didn’t work out so well. When I went on to Instagram, then I managed to get the word of my cupcakes around. I think because Instagram is picture-heavy. So it depends on the social media you choose. Some do well on twitter, some on Facebook. However, at the same time, I feel that word-of-mouth has a big part to play too.” Saarah explained that social media also has enabled her to discover the ever changing needs and wants of her customers hence, the change in the cupcake and cake menu over the past year. Meanwhile, challenges are inevitable. Saarah has had dead buyers, received criticism here and there but as she says, “it is part and parcel of owning a business. If you’re not up for constructive criticism and hardships, then don’t do it. You got to have a passion for whatever you want to do in order to keep doing it.” These lessons she learnt then led to different approaches on how to handle similar situations. Not forgetting, the presence of competition from other skilled and popular online bakers like FluffBakery, MyBakesYourCraves, MinahCrocker and more also questions the sustainability of Saarah’s online business. However, this baker has a rather different attitude towards this issue:
@BAKESINACUP 24
“I don’t tend to feel competitive against other bakers. I know some of them went to pastry school and learnt more than me. I know they are better than me. I myself am a customer of them! If your product is good, people will eventually come knocking on your door. If it’s not, then it’s okay. I am content with the amount of customers I currently have. Things can spread fast through the social media. So we all have to watch what we say and not cause our online bakery to have a bad reputation,” she explained. Saarah firmly believes that humility and passion is the key to success in any online business.

THE HENNA SERVICES PROVIDER: EKA SYAFIQAH, 22, Undergraduate
#EShennafix Henna art never came across Eka’s mind. Surprisingly, it was through social media itself that this 22-year-old ventured into the Henna world and fell in love with it. She had won a competition organized by Syraskins – a famous local Henna Services business. Syraskins is well known for its henna services booth attracting a long queue at Geylang’s Annual Fasting Month Bazaar. Eka won her first few henna cones from Syraskins in early 2013 and had used them to try out some simple henna designs. “I found Henna art so beautiful so I tried to draw some myself after winning the cones. I posted my first attempt on my Instagram profile and my friends started complimenting me. When I think back, I think my first attempt was so horrible!” Eka mentioned, and laughed. Eka makes use of the hashtag (#) function on Instagram. She hashtags #mehndi, #henna, #hennaArt, #inai and more in order to let her work be easily found and accessed to by anyone and everyone on Instagram. After this, she then got to know many other people who also provided henna services online and have a flair for henna art. To Eka’s surprise, the “henna world” is actually a friendly place. “All the ladies in the henna industry are absolutely nice and helpful people! They will share tips and henna knowledge on their Instagram or with you personally;
you can follow or get inspiration from their henna designs and many more so there’s not really much competitive spirit. The only thing you have to remember is to credit them if you’ve followed or are influenced by their work because no henna artist likes being copied. To me, they are already nice enough to share their henna knowledge and I as a henna artist understand why they feel that way,” said Eka. She is truly amazed by how the social media has allowed her to discover more about the world of henna – from meeting similar henna artists like her, gaining knowledge from the professionals, building friendships with her customers and more. Starting from just small and simple designs, Eka now does henna for bridal and engagement events. “I still can’t believe how far I’ve come! Even though I’m not as popular as Syraskins but it’s already overwhelming to me. I’m very thankful for this journey and hope to learn more about henna art. Social media has helped me a lot – from discovering my passion for this to allowing me to display my work out there and for making it easy for potential customers to contact me for services.” Indeed, social media has played a big part in Eka’s journey towards henna art. You can find all her work, simply by searching for #EsHennaFix hashtags on Instagram!

The 2012 Instagram Controversy has proven a fact: There is an extent to just how far the public are willing to give up their privacy online
@VTXJ
Image: imediaconnection.com
With social networking sites functioning as the fundamental building blocks of today’s society, their ability to turn communication into a global phenomenon has transformed how social orders operate in modern civilization. The increasing importance of the Internet in everyday life has given rise to the era of people power; granting commoners the ability to impact global happenings. Richard Salbato from Unity Publishing elaborates on this saying, “Because we, the people, now have access to all information and massive communication between the masses, we can now be an organized force even without a leader.” In December 2012, it seems that the web has scored one point up against social networking service Instagram as the latter’s announcement on a revised terms of service met immediate and total resistance from its user base. The crux of the incident focused on the use of the
26
following controversial language: “Some or all of the Service may be supported by advertising revenue. To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you.” With no apparent option to opt out of the clause other than deleting their accounts, users were convinced that Instagram planned to exploit their personal pictures and data for the company’s own use and profit – in a new move that not even the underage are exempted from – and the resulting backlash was a fervent one. Media outlets worldwide were reporting the same news over and over again
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE as die-hard Instagram fans turned to social media channels to protest against the new policies. Within twenty-four hours, Instagram found itself facing a full-fledged public relations crisis as millions chose to unsubscribe from the service to boycott the new implementations – as cited by Montvale attorney Andrew Bolson. Nothing spreads on the Internet like outrage; Instagram learnt it the hard way. Although it only took a day for co-founder Kevin Systrom to respond to the controversy and execute the necessary corrective actions, there was no doubt that the damage had already been done. In just one day, the platform had lost a vast amount of user goodwill due to overwhelmingly negative responses against the proposed change. The Internet had given life to Instagram; and it has proven just how easily it could take that away too. Despite the fact that the proposed language was never implemented in the end, the incident had called for a deeper understanding of the current state of Internet privacy and the evolving industry. While it has become a norm for Internet users these days to accept a small invasion of their privacy in return for free access to the various social networking platforms, businesses must understand that there is a limit to how far these users can allow themselves to be pushed before retaliating. While great content might have the power to transform the unknown to the unbelievable and value-add, ultimately it is up to the user to decide whether or not to stay on. Businesses need profit to sustain them, but there would be no business if there were no consumers. Social media companies need to recognize the importance in allowing users to have a voice in matters that concern them - especially so if it implicates the delicate subject of freely renouncing rights that have customarily received copyright or trademark protection. The Internet has connected the people of the world together, and they are no longer alone in fighting a losing battle against the world’s media giants. In order to survive, businesses need to learn to sustain and expand their user base while exploring new ways to improve revenue and grow profits. Times have changed, and this is the age of people power.

Do’s & Don’ts of social media Internet ethics, everyone needs to know it. The bible of Social Media
@shahirayb
NOT ADD RANDOM PEOPLE
USE THE PERSONAL MESSAGE FUNCTION
TAG BAD PHOTOS OF YOUR FRIENDS
BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU POST
First of all, having a large number of “friends” in Facebook does not make you any popular. It simply means that you are insecure of yourself. It is okay when you add friends that you know in real life but adding random strangers – I do believe that is not a good idea. Just because you see an attractive person, don’t click on the “friend request” button.
This will only lead to two responses – one would think that it is just a joke made by a good friend and will eventually forget about it, or it can cause a huge dispute between you and your friends. You would never want to embarrass a person online. Once a photo is posted online, no matter how many times you try to delete it, it will still be online !
COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR WORK
This is a HUGE risk, especially when you are connected to your executives online. True, sometimes you just want to release some steam but doing it online is NOT a good idea. Not only has venting about work online caused people to lose their jobs, some even have been punished for it. If you want to complain about your work, talk to someone personally rather than share it online where the whole world can see.

So please So please do mind do mind your your words. words. Do Do notnotjust just post post provocative comments online as you might spark huge fights and arguments and that is very important to avoid!
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE
CALL RATHER THAN POSTING PERSONAL
INFO It is common etiquette to call a family member or so to pass on important and personal news such as death or hospitalization. You don’t have to share it to the whole world and let your family members find out through your Facebook post. Close relatives would prefer a phone call. It is the same as breaking up with someone through texting, it’s just not right..
OVERSHARING (Too Much Information)
No one wants to know what you ate for breakfast and how you felt after a good shower. DO NOT OVERSHARE. This will not only irritate your friends online, it shows how boring of a person you are. No one wants to know what your daily schedule is or what you are doing I every ten minutes. “Just came out of the toilet” – yeah, am pretty sure all of your friends are interested in that.
REPLY TO COMMENTS
BONUS: FLAMING OTHERS This is the holy grail of what NOT to do online. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it does not mean that you should post provocative comments online. online.Don’t Don’t be be a jerk a who jerk spoilsspoils who the funthe in social fun inmedia. social Itmedia. is not only It is embarrassing not only embarrassing to yourself but toalso yourto thosebut self who also are connected to those who to you areonline. conNot to forget, nected to you theonline. consequences Not to of forget, your actions the consequences could be extreme of your even actions though you may could be deem extreme youreven post though “harmless”. you may deem your post “harmless”.

I’m not saying you should do it for the sake of doing it, but add on to their comments once in a while. If you ignore them all the time, chances are that they won’t bother about your status anymore and you’ll look silly talking to a wall..

PREDATORS_ONLINE No one is safe. Not now, not anywhere. The predators might be invisible but the threat is real
@VTXJ
Image: ordinaryevil.wordpress.com
“…Until the age of the Internet, anonymity was a rare thing,” wrote Julie Zhuo, The New York Times. “When someone spoke in public, his audience would naturally be able to see who was talking.” Now, in this digital day and age, anonymity has become a double-edged sword. What was once thought to protect, has taken on a second role as an instrument of deceit – and online predators have found a way to escape jurisdiction under the cloak of invisibility. Technology is everywhere, and so is the very real danger lurking in the unknown. “On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog,” says the caption of a 1993 cartoon by American cartoonist Peter Steiner. True enough, with the anonymity of the worldwide web, you never know who you are talking to anymore - not even if that someone puts a name or face to his or her assumed online identities. While the tech-savvy generation of today may see their online selves as an extension to their real-world identities, not everyone thinks the same way. Online predators do exist, often pretending to be someone that they are not. “We think people should communicate online in the same way that they communicate in the real world,” says Facebook spokeswoman Malorie Lucich, with regards to the site’s
32
naming policy. Unfortunately, as stated by Heather Kelly from CNN, 83 million Facebook accounts are actually fakes and duplicates. The adoption of real-name culture online remains imperfect to this day despite Facebook’s continual pronouncement that its ‘standard accounts are reserved for real people using their real names’. Social media has become a body of lies where the faces of predators have changed. In a virtual domain where appearances serve as mere disguises to separate the digital world from reality, the perpetrators are not always the ‘creepy-looking’ guys by default. With a digital image library easily available at a single click, anyone can claim to be someone else online. What is real and what is not? The one truth we can believe in at this moment… Is that these predators could be anybody, anywhere. They prey on vulnerability, drawing to it like chum to a shark. While some might find it fun to play-pretend, others hold dangerous intentions. In 2012, a video clip featuring Japanese cross-dressers MAA and Protein went viral after MAA uploaded the short segment onto Niconico – a video sharing website in Japan. MAA, who was posing as a boy, had accepted a video call initiation from a girl who introduced herself

as Protein. Protein had remarked that MAA sounded unhappy and requested for a video conversation so that she could cheer MAA up in person. Heeding the request, MAA was pleasantly startled by Protein’s sweet appearance as she had initially thought that Protein was male. A short while later, Protein expressed that she had something to share before tilting her webcam down to reveal a heavily muscled body that did not match her feminine looks. MAA was left speechless as she

stared at Protein who was flexing her arm muscles. When she later commented that Protein had ‘perfect muscles’, the latter cheekily asked if MAA had been fooled before revealing in her original voice that ‘she’ was a man using a voice-changer. MAA had not been expecting that answer and was left pleasantly shocked. The exchange had ended in good-natured teasing and polite goodbyes - but reality does not always wind-up with happy endings.

Twelve years ago, a young girl found hell in the form of a man she had met on the Internet. On New Year’s Day, 2002, 13-year-old Alicia Kozakiewicz disappeared from home. Abducted from outside her parents’ house, she was starved, tortured and sexually assaulted for four days before FBI agents managed to rescue her from the basement dungeon she was held prisoner in. Alicia had met 38-year-old sexual predator Scott Tyree in a Yahoo chat room, and they have been conversing online for eight months when he decided to make his move. She had trusted Tyree and thought him to be her ‘best friend’, but he was neither that nor the boy he had pretended to be. Scott Tyree was an accused sex sadist. “Alicia, I’m beginning to like you too much. Tonight we’re going to go for a ride.” Hearing those words, 13-year-old Alicia feared that she was about to be murdered. Ironically, it was the Internet that had saved her life. Scott Tyree had made a major mistake. Underestimating the power of the Internet, he had openly bragged about the fact that he
Image: aliciaproject.org
now owns a teenage sex slave and uploaded videos showing Alicia hanging from the ceiling with her arms bound. A Florida man who had seen these videos just so happened to have seen news stories about Alicia being missing; he contacted the FBI. From the screen name provided by the Florida man, the FBI managed to track Tyree to his townhouse and bring an end to Alicia’s four-day long torment. The Internet is a powerful tool, and a dangerous one too when used in wrong hands. For Alicia, while her life may never be the same again, she has been granted a second chance to live. Despite losing huge portions of her memory, including most of her life preceding the incident, she is now a psychology major who goes around educating teens on how to protect themselves from the dangers of the Internet. The predator might be invisible but the threat is real; and any incident involving an online predator is just one too many. Do not be fooled, for what you see may not necessarily be the truth.

SOCIAL MEDIA vs SOCIETY
Is Social Media unconsciously playing a big part in hurting our relationships? @NRWHDH
Image: http://babygenie.wordpress.com/2013/05/08/do-you-allow-mobile-phones-at-the-dinner-table/
“No phones on the table!” – a rule that applies to my family whenever we have dinner together outside. Unfortunately, we never adhered that rule. Sometimes, when I have the opportunity to look up and get a glance of what’s happening, this is what I see: My sister is busy text messaging her boyfriend. My brother is watching Vine videos and laughing to himself. My mother is scrolling down her Facebook Newsfeed. My father will play Bejeweled because everyone else is busy on his or her phone. Is checking your social media more important than spending some quality time and making conversation with your family? 36
We Why
all do
know the our actions
answer here. say otherwise
No. then?
If we could live without social media five years ago, then why can’t we do the same now? Worse, do we even realize that social media has made a very vast difference in our lives to the point that it ruins relationships? By relationships, I’m referring to all kinds of relationships – boy-girl, family and friends. Now girls, don’t tell me you’ve never tried to check your boyfriend’s Instagram or Facebook to keep track of whom he’s following, whose post or picture he’s commenting on and more. I’m not saying it applies to all girls and girls only – it happens with the guys too.
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE According to mensxp.com, there are five ways that show how Social Media is ruining relationships:
1.
The Relationship Status.
4.
There are plenty of stories I’ve heard about couples getting involved in huge fights and then resorting to doing stupid things to seek revenge. “Stupid things” do not just refer to cheating on your partner. It might be posting pictures of you “having fun” on your Facebook page, sharing a status about how obnoxious and cruel your partner is for the world to see and more.
That moment when you just got into a relationship and your partner doesn’t change his or her status. Then you start to wonder whether they’re really into you as much as you’re into them. Why does a change in relationship status mean so much to us?
2.
Couples exhibit happiness more than experience it.
Do we really want people to see you and your partner as an imbalanced and unhappy couple? A couple is made up of two people. TWO. Which is why things – especially the bad – should mostly, be kept between the TWO of you.
Ever since the emergence of social media, how many times have you actually immersed yourself in a moment with your partner and not feel like you need to share it on Twitter or Instagram? Let’s not forget, there are those couples who can’t seem to stop posting on each other’s social media about how much they love and mean to one another, how they would die without the other half and more. This is what I mean by how we tend to exhibit our happiness more than experience it.
3.
That certain person who always hits on your partner on social media. We all have this issue at some point of time in our relationship. The male would get overprotective of their girlfriends, and the female would get insecure and overly jealous of their boyfriends. Unnecessary issues could also arise from this such as trust issues – when, get this, it isn’t even either of your faults in the first place.
Guilty Pleasures.
5.
Stalking Issues. When I read about this on mensxp.com, I felt all the imaginary fingers pointing at me. You might not have any trust issues, your partner might not have cheated on your before, you might have one of those healthy, well-balanced relationships but you’d still stalk your partner’s social media accounts. Exhibit A – myself. After checking my social media accounts, I’d always go to my partner’s next, especially his twitter. Why are his feelings on twitter important for me to check? Wouldn’t he let me know how his day was going, how he felt about certain issues happening around him and more? This went on for so long till it has now become a habit. And yes, my partner does know about it and calls me “stalker” – and I’m lucky as hell he calls me it lovingly. Any other man would freak out and walk right out that door by now.
37
So yes, ultimately I do feel social media does have some negative impact on a boy-girl relationship. I’ve seen it happen around me countless of times: My friends who are in a relationship tend to delete off their social media accounts sooner or later. Inna Syakinah, 22, an ICA Officer is one example. “There are too many fights I’d rather not handle because it’s too stupid. It’s simply easier to just delete off my Instagram and Facebook account. I’m only on Twitter now – and I’m not that active anymore,” she explains. However, some couples still do stay active on the social media but the fights seem to be inevitable. “Sometimes you can trust your partner, but seeing what happens on his Instagram or Twitter page can just… spark you off. Even when you know your partner did nothing wrong,” commented Nor Farina Khamis, 22, an Assistant Manager at Coffee Bean Tea & Leaf.
Image: http://blog.womenshealthmag.com/scoop/social-media-tips-for-relationships/
The consequences are relatively the same for family relationships. For example, point #2, Some parents are so caught up in trying to capture their child’s fun moments on Instagram or Facebook to the extent they miss out certain things. For example, a mother can be so keen in sharing a video of her son walking his first steps on Facebook that she actually misses the moment and forgets to just immerse herself in the joy. While capturing their firsts is important to a parent, missing them due to social media is even worse. So why do they still insist on sharing these moments on social media and take the risk of missing out certain things?

“Some parents just have that I-must-recordeverything-and-share-it-with-my-friends syndrome. Especially the mothers! It happens! And I mean, who doesn’t love baby videos? I never fail to click on those that my nieces and nephews share of their children on their Facebook,” commented Azliyah Borhan, 49, a mother of three. Another point to note is that children feel that there’s a lack of privacy these days as more adults are on Facebook. They fear their parents stalking their every actions and words, hence feeling like there’s no freedom to express what they want to on their social media profiles. Be it if they have a close relationship with their parents or not, there are just certain things that, “you don’t show your parents”. “I feel uncomfortable when my parents see a picture of me and my boyfriend on my Instagram profile. Even though I don’t post a picture of me kissing or even being intimate with him, I still rather not let my parents see it.

They know I’m dating someone and they know my boyfriend well. I guess I’m just shy and it’s sort of a form of respect. You don’t go all hanky-panky with your boyfriend in front of your parents – even on social media!” mentioned Nur Amalina Samat, 19, a final year ITE College Central student. I’ve personally had some experience on this. There are some days my parents would just blurt out about something they saw on my profile that I don’t even remember of. The scary part? They remember it so well and won’t let it go until you can recall it. And you’re there thinking, “Oh yes, they’re in my friend’s list. They can see everything.” Most times the social media can bring up unnecessary fights in the family. For example, when your parents question you about what you posted and you just don’t feel like answering them. “Why don’t you want to share with me? I’m your mother.”
Image: http://www.parentsandchildrentogether.info/
Urgh. Then we youths tend to feel smothered. However, if we say anything that would hurt their feelings, a fight will start and that’s when you wish you didn’t post anything in the first place. Social media can even be a huge distraction to your family till the first scenario I’ve described in this article happens (The one where everyone is on their smartphones and conversation is zero.) Muhamad Hadi, 25, a first year student from Republic Polytechnic, feels that society already knows of this problem caused by the social media. “Everyone knows that social media ruins relationships. How do I know? I see people tweeting about it, talking about it, posting about it. There are even articles on the Internet about it,” he explained. If we all have identified the problem, what are we doing about it? Is society putting in effort to solve this problem? Is it actually possible for us to go back to a time when social media didn’t ruin the way we led our lives? What more the “Z” generation – who is believed to be overly dependent on technology and social media because they grew up using it? Take away their smartphones - can they actually get through the next few hours?

Do not wait for a time when something bad has to happen in order to get your attention away from your phones. Too much of anything always has a negative i mpact. Real-time communication and interaction is still important and healthy for our well-being The Social Media – don’t abuse it. 39

The battle of social media
Through the years, social media has been constantly evolving to please the growing society. This, in turn, led to the creation of many similar social media sites that eventually competes with each other to be the best
@afrinariffin
BLOGGING TOOLS
40
Livejournal started on April 15, 1999 by American programmer Brad Fitzpatrick as a way to keep his high school friends updated on his activities. It is a social network platform that allows users to keep a blog, journal or diary. Aside from features such as customizing your personal web page, Livejournal also gives the option of users to befriend others by adding them to their “friends list, in which collects the most recent journal entries of their friends, making it a very community-driven website.
Shortly after, Pyra Labs launched Blogger, on August 23, 1999. With the similar purpose of being a blog-publishing service, it has provided people of the Internet with another blogging site to choose from besides Livejournal. Google soon took over Blogger in 2003 and constantly updates their features by introducing new templates for bloggers to choose from and redesigned the website on the whole. As technology continues to advance, Blogger is now available on mobile services. Not only can bloggers edit their blogs though smartphones, but even traditional cell phones can be used to post an entry through SMS or MMS.
Then, Wordpress came in May 27, 2003. It is a blogging tool and content management system based on PHP and MySQL, which runs a web-hosting service. With inputs like various theme, widgets and plugins provided, it easily clinched 18.9% of the top 10 million websites as of August 2013. It is the most popular blogging system online and recently claimed nearly 10 million downloads for Wordpress version 3.7.
Tumblr made its appearance in 2007, after founder David Karp decided that tumblelogs (shot-form blogs) were not going to be developed by any of the existing blogging sites. Within two weeks, Tumblr gained 75,000 users. Yahoo! eventually bought over Tumblr in 2013 for $1.1billion. The microblogging site is most popular with teenagers and the under 25, and as of November 30 2013, it has gathered over 152.2million blogs with more than 68.6billion posts in total.

THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE
social Networking sites Before it was redesigned to be a social gaming site, Friendster used to be one the first social networking sites that ever existed. Starting out mainly as a dating site that allows users to discover new events, bands or hobbies, its popularity quickly escalated in Southeast Asia after its launch in 2002, with three million users garnered within the first few months.
Social discovery website Tagged was then founded in 2004 by Greg Tseng and Johann Schleier-Smith. It allows users to browse the profiles of others, play games and share tags and virtual gifts and by September 2010, Tagged surpassed 100 million registered members. In December 2011, Tagged then bought over Hi5, bringing in its 230 million members to Tagged’s existing 100 million registered users.
Myspace soon came after Friendster in 2003. It is a social networking service with a strong music emphasis owned by Specific Media LLC and celebrity Justin Timberlake. From 2005 to 2008, Myspace was the most visited social networking site in the world. Myspace generated 50 million users as of June 2013.
Finally, Facebook was launched in 2004, specifically for Harvard students. However, in due time, it expanded its membership to colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, Stanford University and other universities as well. This online social networking service founded by Mark Zuckerberg gradually opened its site to high school students and anyone over 13 years of age. At the moment, Facebook has surpassed a billion monthly users, globally.
Initially, Hi5 was introduced as a social networking site but by 2009, the site refocused itself as a social gaming platform. It was reported that Hi5 became the third most popular social networking site in terms of monthly unique visitors.
Twitter is a social networking site and microblogging service that enables users to “tweet” messages limited to 140 characters. Launched in 2006, Twitter quickly rose in popularity. As of September 2013, data shows that 200 million users send over 400 million tweets a day, with nearly 60% of the tweets deriving from mobile devices.
Applications Launched in 2010, Instagram is an online photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables users to take pictures and videos, apply digital filters to them and share them on a variety of social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. It was awarded the title “App of the Year” for 2011. By 2012, Facebook acquired Instagram.
Vine is a mobile application owned by Twitter, that lets users create and video clips of only six seconds. Although Instagram caused a stir for Vine when it launched its video-sharing feature, Vine remains unperturbed and even got listed in TIME’s 50 Best Android Applications for 2013.
Keek was released a few months after Vine. It allows users to upload video status updates, which are called “keeks”. Uploads are either through webcams or mobile applications and it has been recognized as “the Twitter for video”, “Instagram of video” or “micro version of YouTube”. As of August 2013, Keek reached a total of 58 million users and it is the top video application in 18 countries globally.
In conclusion:
As you can probably tell, novel ideas and creations are constantly appearing and they all fight to be the best. As more and more social media platforms improve and develop, it becomes uncertain if Facebook can sustain its top spot, or perhaps get overthrown of its title by another. 41

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF your parents are on social media? Here’s some guidance on how to conquer one of our youth’s worse nightmares – when your parents add you on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
@NRWHDH Kiss goodbye to the days you can post your pictures and thoughts freely on your social networking sites! Now, parents are becoming more and more tech-savvy, eventually exploring the different kinds of platforms that youths are utilizing. Next thing you know, a request appears and it says: (Insert your Mum’s name here) wants to follow you (Insert your Dad’s name here) Accept or Ignore? Oh, the horror. However, there are only a few social networking websites they are active on. The most popular one to date is Facebook. Instagram and Twitter are dangerously close to being next in line.
WHY? According to a survey we conducted, 90% of parents use social media to get back in touch with their friends from former schools and reconnect with long-lost colle agues. The other 10% would create a Facebook account to follow certain movements (e.g. Religious groups, Peace corps, Online business page) and thus, not have many friends on their friend’s list. THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE steps you can take when you see that FRIEND request from your parents
1.
Clean up your profile.
Next, remember to watch what you say.
2.
If there is anything that you think your parents would kill you for when they see it – GET RID OF IT. Pictures of you clubbing, drinking, going to a place they don’t know of and so on, should all go. Unless your parents are open minded and acceptable of your social activities, then put it out there for them to see.
Stop using profanities. From what I know, parents hate it when their children use the F word, even though it might be a norm for us teens. I remember an argument between my mother and brother.
Facebook has created a function that can customize your privacy settings. Hence, you can choose to show certain things to your friends and exclude just your parents. This has been such a useful function to many of my friends who want to show off their “fun times” but had to hide it from their parents.
“Yes but using the F word reflects on your character. People will think your parents didn’t teach you manners. It puts you in a negative spotlight!”
If you’re scared that your friends might tag you in photos that you don’t want your parents to see, then you can adjust the privacy of your tagged photos to not be seen to the public.
3.
Don’t be easily embarrassed.
Instead, embrace the awkwardness. It’s like when you’re out with your friends – when you trip, fall and feel embarrassed, you will feel that the people around you are laughing at you but if you start laughing at your clumsiness instead, won’t you feel a little less embarrassed? It’s like telling the people around you, “Yes, I fell and I find it funny too”. Ironically, it makes you feel more confident and gives others the impression that you’re secure of yourself – no matter how stupid you look.
“But F*** can mean so many things! In my status it meant “VERY”. I was VERY bored = F***ing bored!”
“Okay…”
DON’T BOTHER ARGUING WITH THEM. YOU KNOW THEY WILL WIN. So just save the time that you’ll waste on fighting for your rights and just stop using profanities.
4.
Be open-minded.
Now that they’re in your friend’s list, they’re going to know everything (that you’ve shown them at least). Be prepared for them to question you regarding your status update, pictures of friends. Explain yourself. At the end of the day, they’re asking because they care. Parents wear this blindfold that makes you look like their 4-year-old baby so they’re going to want to protect you all the time. Just remember that if you answer, “it’s my life! Give me some privacy!” another argument will break out and… there goes a whole lot of your time that you’ll never be able to get back.
Face it – There is NO avoiding them. You just have to accept their friend request, eventually. 43

all the reasons to hate smart phones photographers It is a known fact that nowadays, everyone is posting photos on Instagram and some even dare say that their photos are on par with that of professionals. Let’s take a look at some of the photos that certain Instagrammers have taken and considered “photography”
@shahirayb The Caption: “I am speechless”.
A good attempt in coming up with a nice photo but there is one problem. There is literally nothing to look at. No focal points, and nothing is in focus.
This one is unique. I have never seen anyone posted a photo of his or her leg before, and literally just one leg. The photo is not even in focus, the colours are dull and the effects used are making the person’s leg look dirty.
44
This photo sums up the expression that I have every single time I see a cringeworthy photo on Instagram and let’s just say; this expression is used a lot. Taking a photo in the dark with your smart phones is never a great idea as the built-in cameras are not good enough to capture in low light.
I am sure there is a story to be told, nuts in hand and all. The colours of the photo are quite nice however; there is simply nothing else. It is literally just nuts on a hand. There’s nothing else to be said here.
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUE
All I can say is this photo is giving me a headache. The effects that are used can cause children to have a seizure if they were to stare at it for more that 15 seconds. Atrocious.
Dirty dishes. Out of all the things that you can take a photo of, it has to be your dirty dishes? That is just plain nasty. I do not know why would you even take a photo of dirty dishes that look like it has been left on your sink for days. Looking at it makes me feel queasy. From a scale of zero to ten, I give this photo a massive skull.
What is happening? Nothing in the photo is in focus with the terrible pixelation going on. I am guessing that this photo was taken during the night time. Your average smartphones are not capable of taking good shots at night, as they do not have an iris that is large enough. This photo is starting to give me the creeps after looking at it for a good minute.
Is it just me or is there a recurring pattern right here? It’s just another dirty plate even more so disgusting than the last. Can someone please enlighten me on why would anyone take a photo of this and explain to me of his or her thought process that went through his or her mind before snapping this photo?
How many selfies is too many selfies? Oh my goodness, I don’t think I need to explain what is going on here. This man probably loves himself too much. What do you think?
This is just plain wrong. Why would you take a photo of your pants down? I don’t think any of your followers would want to know that you are taking a dump. This is disgusting.
