WARDROBE TIPS FOR THE PERFECT WORK FROM HOME FALL LOOK This year has been completely different for many people. The pandemic has led us to adapt and change in ways we couldn’t have imagined. If you’re working from home, it might be common to have more than one zoom meeting a day, so although you might not need to go out as often, you still need to look presentable. Here are some tips to achieving a balanced wardrobe, and perhaps removing the pieces that you don’t use. 1 - Choose a range of colors for the season Autumn is a good time to go with earth colors such as terracotta, mustard, and brown. Or perhaps you are attracted to neutral colors such as gray, beige or light blue. 2- Monochromatic light weight sweaters The change in season is a good opportunity to pack away those busy clothes with loud patterns. Autumn marks the beginning of cooler days, so having a few classic, monochromatic sweaters in your wardrobe is a great way to look professional (and be comfortable) on your video calls. 3- Comfy bottoms Time to bring the leggings out! Versatile pants, long skirts or any piece that allows you to work comfortably and be ready to pop out and run an errand at any time are just the best. 4- Layers Layers help give a more formal feel to casual wear. Denim shirts, jackets, ponchos or raincoats are all fair game this fall. 5- Accessories Scarves and fun jewelry can give you a touch of personality Don’t be afraid to play around with accessories. And if you’re not in the mood for make up, computer reading glasses that cover your eyes can be your best friend. 6- Hair It doesn't matter what hairstyle you have or what color it is, the most important thing is that it looks clean and neat in your own style! There’s nothing worse than the “I may have forgotten this meeting was happening” look. There are tons of easy online tutorials to walk you through a new hairstyle. And remember if you have a bad hair day, there is nothing that a hat can’t cover.

As we already know during the pandemic, we should limit ourselves to in- person meetings, but that doesn't mean we can't have a super cool baby shower for that dear friend or family member. Here some ideas to make that baby shower rock! Select the time, we recommend selecting a 2 hours frame so people have the option to connect went they get free. Example, from 2 pm to 4 pm. Send an email to all guests, in this email you will place all the important information, such as the gift registration link or a link if they prefer to donate to an institution, etc. Let the guests know to connect with a drink to make a toast to the baby that is about to arrive. Send a note to the mom or the baby is a nice gift, In this activity, guests are given prompts that they will fill out for the new baby, or mom to then sign their name at the bottom of the card. Guests can offer a new baby or mom some awesome advice or offer fun and light-hearted advice.

A fun game you can play virtually is the baby birth pool, send an email to each of the virtual shower guests for their entry into the baby birth pool, They should guess the date the baby will be born, the time, the birth weight, and the birth length of the baby. The results of this game obviously can't be announced until after the birth, but you'll want the entries gathered before the big day gets too close. The person who guesses the closest in the different areas wins the game. Another game that involves both the parents-to-be where guests try to

determine if a question reflects the mommy or daddy more. The questions may be: who is going to change the 3:00 am poop diaper? Who sings lullabies better? Who would like more kids? And so on...this can be a fun way to focus on the parents and celebrate them.

Talent, determination and beauty are all synonymous with the multi talented Puerto Rican actress Roselyn Sanchez. In this exclusive interview with NFF, Roselyn talks about some of her favorite acting roles, her charity work, her directing debut, and some of her beauty secrets. 1-In your most recent production Satos, we saw you debut as a director, congratulations! Could you tell us a little bit about how Satos was born and your passion for the cause? Satos is a short film that I directed. It’s my first time directing a movie. I went to Puerto Rico where I was born and raised, and I employed Puerto Rican crew and talent. It's about a dog shelter and how through the adoption of a dog, the life of three different families, all from different socio-economic backgrounds, changed forever. This is post-Hurricane Maria, so things in Puerto Rico were really, really difficult. Everybody was struggling, not only financially, but mentally, and things were really hard. These three families were going through their own problems, have all these stories that - that nobody knows and they’re not supposed to meet, but through a shelter, and the adoption of a dog, they meet and their lives transform. The movie means the world to me. As I said, it's my first time directing. I’ve been wanting to branch out and diversify and do something different within the business, so I’m hoping that Satos becomes my letter of presentation to direct more in the future. 2-You have used your celebrity and influence to help animals in the streets. How was this vocation born? And what do you think people can do to help? I love animals. I grew up with one dog and then when I moved to the States by myself, I was almost 22 years old, I got Mota, my first dog and then Nato. After that, I’ve had 4 dogs at a time. Right now I have two, and I just believe, I always tell people joking “I like dogs more than people” (laughing). I just think there’s something really special about these animals and the way they communicate and they become our best friends. Their love is so wonderful, unconditional, and just clean, positive and beautiful. There’s one thing I can’t stand, which is animal abuse, of any animal. I realized, maybe 7-8 years ago, when I became the godmother of this foundation in PR called “Pet SOS”, that I have this incredible passion for dogs and trying to help eradicate the problem that we have in PR and the island of so many stray dogs walking the streets. It’s just sad and shameful, and I promised myself that I was going to do something to help. 3-We have seen you in many different facets such as actress, singer, dancer, producer, entertainer, now also a writer and film director, is there something you would like to do that you haven't done yet? I want to do broadway. I moved to the States with the hopes to do musical theatre. I grew up as a dancer and I love to sing, and I act, so within the business, yes, I would like to do broadway and musical theatre. Outside the business, my dream would be to retire and buy land and build a ranch and just rescue dogs. To be honest with you, I’d love to have a shelter.

4-You’ve had a long illustrious career as an actor. What role brought you the most creative satisfaction? Why? Oh my God. Creative satisfaction? So many roles. When I did Fame LA because I was acting, singing, and dancing, that role of Lily Arguelo was so close to my heart. Then I did Yellow, my first movie that I produced in Puerto Rico, playing a dancer, that's close to my heart because it was my dream to do that movie. It took me seven years to develop it and raise the financing, so it's very close to my heart. The character I play in Satos, my directorial debut, Carolina, is also very close to my heart because I also struggled with fertility so I understood her journey really well. One role that I would love to play is a nun, una monja !!! (a nun) muero por hacer eso algun dia. 5-Any new projects that we should look forward to? I am in Toronto, Canada right now as I’m recording this for NFF. I’m doing a Christmas movie for Lifetime, a Christmas movie. I’m very excited about it, it’s beautiful. Also a movie called Gringa that I shot in Sayulita, Mexico at the end of last year. It's an independent film with Steve Zahn that's coming out. I have two more things that I’m directing that I can’t talk about too much at the moment, but hopefully next year you guys will know all about it! 6- Three words that define the current Rosalyn Sánchez? Perseverance. Strength. Dreamer. 7- Any advice for career woman who have children? Oh my God. You can’t think about it, you just have to go for it. If you think about it, you stop, you get petrified. The life of a working mother is not easy. You get a lot of mom guilt at times. In my personal experience, look at me, I’m in Canada for five weeks without my children. It's brutal. I cry many nights, but I believe in the power of working moms, and I believe in the power of independence, and being able to support yourself as a woman, so I’m all about it. My advice, if you like to work, is there’s a lot of women out there who are phenomenal mothers, and phenomenal entrepreneurs and they do both things really well. So use that as an example. 8- Can you share some of your beauty routines? I never go to bed with makeup on. My face is always clean when I go to bed, and I wake up with a clean face. Nutrition is important. I’m an eater, I eat a lot. I’m a pescatarian now, but I’m transitioning to being a vegan. I eat so I don't really follow a diet per se but sometimes, if I do a - I like doing cleanses. I would do three days of a juice cleanse to reset, and then I eat again. I have this ability because my husband eats super clean, and we’re raising kids and we want them to eat very clean. I don’t diet, but I eat well, you know?

9-You’ve done countless interviews throughout your career but can you think of one thing about yourself that you could share with your fans that they don’t know? Oh my goodness, I don't know, I think I’ve shared so much. I think I've said it many times, I’m severely claustrophobic. People don’t know this - I eat and I can’t completely empty the plate. I always have to leave a little dot of something, a little bite of something. I don't know why, it's weird. Even if I love what I’m eating, even if I’m starving, I have this thing and Eric my husband makes fun of it. I do not finish the whole plate. I don't know why. It's like - I’m a weirdo, its weird. [laughs]

10- If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice at the beginning of your career, what would it be? Oh my god - so many things. So many mistakes. Trust your gut. You know what I mean? Just trust your gut at all times. I think instinct is such a powerful thing that people have, especially women. Especially women on their periods [laughs], and a lot of times you compromise, or you dream so big that you become such a believer and you become gullible and people just play you. You know you don't even know the number of lunches and dinners and wining and dining that I’ve done trying to put a movie together, even though - even though I knew in my heart that it was a waste of time. So if you know it’s a waste of time, don’t waste your time.

3 STEPS TO CLEAR SKIN Whether you have breakouts, dry, reactive, or inflamed skin nutrition and lifestyle habits can provide the answers you seek to keep your skin clear and healthy. Believe me, I know how difficult and frustrating it can be. I experienced eczema and rosacea and the struggle to stop skin from itching, reacting, and burning. I've healed my skin and guided clients to cure their skin conditions. Eczema, rosacea, acne, psoriasis, and all skin issues, even though tricky –– they can be healed! Your complexion is a reflection of what happens in your body. Skin issues are the way your body communicates, sending you signals to let you know there is a problem. Our bodies are incredibly clever because skin problems are difficult to ignore. The next time you break out or get dry patches, instead of trying to put a bandaid on the issue (using steroid creams or prescription medications), put your detective hat on to find what needs to be fixed. Listen to your body to figure out what it is trying to tell you. If your skin is still reacting and you haven't found solutions from dermatologists, I recommend hiring a Health Coach that specializes in skin. A dermatologist will give you prescriptions that can help the problem but lead to side-effects without longterm results. A Health Coach will help you solve the root cause of the issues, provide long-term solutions, and address nutrition and lifestyle triggers. As a Certified Nutrition Health Coach specializing in skin, these are my tips to clear, healthy skin.

1 Manage Stress:

I know what you're thinking, and yes, this one is particularly hard these days with the current state of the world. However, stress causes inflammation, which you need to avoid if you want healthy skin. Try integrating at least one form of self-care every day to reduce stress. Whatever that means for you, think of one activity that brings you joy and makes you feel good. Whether that is listening to music, dancing, singing, getting a massage, spending time with loved ones, meditating, breathing exercises, swimming, going for a walk, hiking, gratitude exercises, or working out. Give your body a break from chronic inflammation at least once a day by finding time for relaxation.

7

2 Upgrade Your Diet:

Eat foods that will nourish your complexion and avoid the ones that will trigger your skin. Foods to add: organic and whole foods such as turmeric, ginger, leafy greens, vegetables (cucumber kale, spinach), fresh fruits (oranges, blueberries, kiwis, lemon), water, legumes, nuts, seeds, fresh herbs, and whole grains. Foods to reduce: processed foods and foods that contain gluten, dairy, refined sugars, and ingredients that are hard to pronounce (chemicals). Examples: pretzels, cakes, cookies, bread, wraps, bagels, donuts, cheese, pizza, fried foods, milkshakes, hot dogs, croissants, candy, chips, taco shells, ice-cream, crackers, pastries, burgers, etc.

3 Upgrade Your Products:

Switch to a natural and unscented laundry detergent. Ditch the softener and dry sheets. Skincare: choose natural, oil-based products without alcohol, fragrances, or water. Skincare products that contain: fragrances, alcohol, water, or hard to pronounce ingredients (otherwise known as toxic chemicals) will dry and irritate your skin –– leading to breakouts, acne, eczema, rosacea, and premature aging skin. Oil-based skincare products will seal in the moisture and keep your skin nourished without any irritants. Even if you have oily skin, you're better of using a light oil such as coconut, jojoba, or moringa –– this won't make your skin more oily; it'll actually improve it. Beet and lentil burger Now that summer is coming to an end and we have had our good share of cheeseburgers and hot dogs, I wanted to come up with a healthier version for a burger that we can still enjoy way into the fall and winter. Since kids are also back to “school” and life is a bit chaotic I needed it to be simple and easy to make. You can do most of the prep ahead of time and once you are ready to make it, it is ready in 30 minutes or less. It is also vegetarian friendly and dense with nutrients!

Red beets and lentils burger with fresh herbs greek yogurt INGREDIENTS(Yields 4 burgers) For the burgers 2 cups of cooked green lentils 2 medium size oven roasted red beets 1 cup of oats 3/4 cup of panko 1 egg (Subtitute with half a cooked yam for a vegan version) 2 teaspoons of cumin 1 teaspoon of coriander Salt and pepper to taste For the greek yogurt dressing 1 cup greek yogurt (Substitute with vegan yogurt for a vegan version) 1 juice of a lemon Handful of fresh cilantro Handful of fresh parsley 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS For the burgers Pre heat the oven to 400 degrees and place beets on a sheet pan, drizzle and rub 1 tsp oil over the beets, add salt and pepper and wrap in foil and roast for about 45-60 minutes or until they can be easily pierced with a knife. Check every 20 minutes so they don’t overcook. Allow beets to cool, then remove the skins and roughly chop. Bring lentils and 4 cups of water to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Cook lentils until tender but still holding their shape, about 20 minutes. Drain and set aside to cool. Transfer the cooked lentils, diced beets, oats, egg, panko, cumin, coriander, salt and pepper in a food processor and pulse a few times until everything is mixed but still has some texture. It should have a dough-like consistency. Taste for seasoning and add additional salt and pepper as needed. Transfer to a bowl, and refrigerate for about an hour to make it easier to form patties. All of this steps can be done ahead of time. When you are ready to enjoy your burgers, take your burger mix out of the fridge, form 4 equal patties, heat a pan with olive oil and place formed patties on the hot pan and cook until browned and crisp, flip and repeat for other side. For the yogurt dressing Place the greek yogurt, cilantro, parsley, lemon juice, and salt and pepper in a food processor and pulse until everything is chopped and combined. Drizzle the olive oil slowly as you are pulsing until you have reached your desired consistency. You should have a slightly green dressing that is not too liquid. Set aside until ready to serve. When you are ready to serve your burger, toast your favorite burger bun, (I like a potato bun) slice half an avocado and dress your burger with a few leaves of arugula and yogurt dressing, and enjoy! 13

Monica Castillo was born in Caracas, Venezuela. From a very young age she learned the true meaning of "farm to table" eating. Her family's business consisted of making artisanal fresh cheese and selling it to gourmet markets in the capital of her country. Between farming multiple fruits and vegetables and living o the animals from the farm, she has a big understanding of what real food should look and taste like. As a result, her passion for food and cooking started early on when she was very young. Her specialty is sophisticated home cooking with a rustic twist. She also takes pride in her consciousness for sourcing the best possible ingredients, including fresh, organic, and local as much as possible. Sometimes that even means sourcing from her garden! To her, food is fuel but also nurture and love! She guarantees a beautiful and delicious adventure in every dish she makes. She now lives in Malibu with her husband and three young kids. Time to build our tacos!

A Social Distancing Halloween Activities With the Family A visit to the pumpkin patch is a great outdoor activity for the whole family. A pumpkin carving / painting day is a good opportunity to connect with your kids and let them have fun. Don’t forget to toast the seeds! Making a pumpkin pie using the inside of your pumpkins is a good opportunity to try your baking abilities. DIY costume competitions are a great way to let the imagination run wild, and are a lot of fun for the whole family - including the pets. Spooky decorations are always fun. And if you don’t want to buy anything you can make your own. Scary (or not scary) movie night with a lot of popcorn and candy is a crowd pleaser. This could be an alternative to trick or treating. Decorating Halloween cookies is a fun way to get your younger kids into baking.

FENG SHUI FOR ENERGY FLOW One of the best things about applying Feng Shui principles to your home is that it helps create energy flow. Feng Shui helps you remove old, stagnant energy and replace it with new, fresh, vibrant energy! Unclutter and unclutter once again: Stuck energy happens when items aren’t used, moved, or cleaned in a while. Dirt, dust, and energy accumulates! You can move the things to new locations in your home, move them to clean and dust, or even get rid of them! Just set the intention before you start that you are moving/cleaning/getting rid of the items to move the energy around your manifestations and call them into your life more quickly. Clean under furniture. Another place in your home where stuck energy tends to hide is under furniture. Smudging removes old energy, negative energy, and charges the air with negative ions (which actually makes the air and energy in your home more positive!) Check your mirrors. In Feng Shui, mirrors not only double everything they reflect (which doubles the energy, both positive and negative) but they also represent how we see ourselves. Kitchen knives should be kept out of sight. The kitchen should be always spotless clean, the negative Feng Shui brought by the kitchen can be worse than your restroom! Limit electronic devices and screens. Use natural bedding and eco-friendly materials. Choose soothing, muted colour tones. Keep all drawers and doors closed when not in use. Only have books you’re currently reading in your bedroom.
