Monday 2nd June 2014
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and welcome to our daily diary of the second day of winter. Now it is 10:30 am and all our caterpillars were busy engaged in different learning experiences on the playground. In the constructive corner, Leo, Gavriel, Isaac and Bryan K were creating shield for the knight, castle tower, time robot and airplane out of Lego blocks. While Joaquine and Zek chose the larger plastic blocks inventing themselves a car with five seats in it. “We are driving to a party.” Joaquine explained to her peers. In order to allow children have a wide range of visual art opportunity for them to make choices, we offered clay at the art table and next to it was easel painting. Ivy, Laila and Alisha were expressing and communicating lots of play ideas when they squeezed, pat and poked the clay, creating worms, snails and cake with our TAFE student Mirella. The girls seemed to greatly enjoy interchanged with each other when they used the clay too. In the background Bryan C and Hana were enthusiastically painting their masterpiece---Hana was painting a blue Croatia, while Bryan C was painting a funny person. Our hospital was still very popular as Jadon, Samuel and Kester had great fun pretending to be doctors checking up Joaquine’s heart beats and temperature.

Monday 2nd June 2014 Other Exciting Moments of the Day
“Guessing Who Am I” This game has always been our caterpillars’ favourite so today Ildi organised the group time inviting all the preschoolers to participate in this friendship game before lunch. Not a surprise the children all guessed their friends’ name correctly because they have formed great friendships with each other during this year. (Outcome 1 & 3)
Money Game Friday afternoon the preschoolers were actively participating in a counting game, learning and sorting the gold coins we collected for Asthma Foundation. The children had great fun manipulating the money and learned that one dollar has a bigger size than two dollar.
