2008-09
NOVA is committed to ensuring that students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities not only at the campus level, but at the College-level as well. While students have the opportunity to participate in numerous activities and events at the campus of preference, the College has established a College-wide program to ensure students can participate and represent the College at large. Purpose College-wide programming was established to foster a sense of community within the institution. College-wide engagement aligns with NOVA's mission of “responding to the educational needs of its dynamic and diverse community through an array of comprehensive programs and services that facilitate learning and workforce development in an environment of open access and through lifelong educational opportunities.” Well administered programming will be beneficial to the student’s overall educational experience aiding in the retention and academic success of students. College-wide activities shall be dynamic, accessible and high quality and directed at keeping the needs of the students at the center of the decision-making process. The programming shall serve as a means by which students, faculty, and staff can be brought together in a spirit creating a typical collegiate environment.
