Cody & Dacy Hamshire • March 17, 2018 Cody and I originally met back in Austin, TX in 2015. I had moved down there for work after graduating college and Cody happened to be the head of IT at the same company. As time moved on, he eventually asked me out and things began to fall into place. From the beginning it was clear that we were very different from one another, but each way that we differed created new opportunities for growth. Those differences helped round each other out and it was clear to see that we would be great partners in life and love before long.
Life eventually took us to Arkansas, with us both wanting a change of scenery and to find a good place to start our life together. In February of 2017, I woke up one morning to find Cody missing and a note in his place that contained a riddle. The riddle lead to a scavenger hunt around the house and that eventually led me to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park where Cody had waited all morning to propose. Spoiler‌I said yes!
Our next year was busy with planning. We lived in the NWA area and knew we wanted to capture the beauty of the outdoors with our wedding day. We found two fantastic venues that were better than we could have ever hoped. Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel for our wedding and Lakepoint Event Center for our reception.

ur wedding day was intimate and filled with joy. One of our favorite things was our Unity Cross that my brother had made. During the ceremony, we braided three ropes from the cross: one for God, two for us and it is now something we have in our home to remind us of our commitment. Another unique moment is the blessing we had during the ceremony. We had our groomsmen and bridesmaids circle around us with a hand on one another while our officiant prayed for our marriage. We finished out our evening celebrating with our family and friends. Our day was full of love and beautiful memories that we will always cherish!
