Welcome to the new term!

President

I am beyond excited to serve as Northwest CTA’s Key Club President for the 2017-2018 term. For this new term, I hope to bring happiness and inclusiveness to the club I serve. To do this more socials, service events, and fundraisers will need to be planned. Good thing myself as well as the new board have already started planning! The possibilities for this term are endless and with this amazing new board, we’ll definitely shine bright like a Moon!

From The Hey Northwest!

Editor

As Northwest CTA’s Key Club Bulletin Editor for the 2017-2018 term, I’ll be looking forward to serving the club by helping bring joy to each event, document each memory within photos, and in these newsletters for all of us! I’ll be helping to inform/reminding us about each event either upcoming or that has happened. I’m beyond excited to fulfill everything needed for us as a club and the new board has already started planning! So, let’s make this term a good one Hawks!

RELAY FOR LIFE 2017 Brianna Abagat|Junior Relay for Life was a life changing event. I was moved by all the stories being I heard. Being surrounded by survivors really touched me. I had a very close family member pass away due to cancer so attending an event for that cause really hit me home. Not only were we able to be there for a good cause, we were able to be there with the people we love and enjoy the presence of. Staying up for 12 hours with my friends brought us closer. Despite the wind and cold temperature, we made the best out of it. I cannot wait to attend next year’s Relay!

Jann Valeza |Sophomore Relay for Life has truly changed me and my outlook on life. From chilly night to connecting with everyone around me, it was great! I created bonds with new people or create stronger bonds with the friends I have that went. Along with that, I was really touched by the event altogether. As I saw all the cancer survivors and dealt with the silent walk remember lost ones. Overall, the event was fun for me and I hope for everyone! I’ll for sure be heading to next year’s!

Minh Tran|Freshman This year was the first time I went to Relay for Life, and it is by far the best decision I have made within Key Club. My favorite part about Relay for Life is being able to hang out with friends, make new friends, and create stronger bonds between friends. My experience during the event has really changed my view on life. This is because someday, someone I love may pass on. As a result, I learned to love who you love now because you never know when they might not be there again. The event has encouraged me to go next year and do more to support the American Cancer Society.

End of the Year Banquet 2017

Angela Marroquin | Sophomore

My second year in Key Club and full of changes. NWCTA soared to greater heights as we won the spirit stick at RTC and won club of the year! I love the bond my club has from just being in Key Club and sharing a passion in serving others. Key Club has taught me that serving the community brings happiness. I participated in many events, along with experiencing firsts like attending a DCM or running for a position and joining the Banquet Committee. The Banquet turned out nice, and I’m proud of everyone for their hard work! Next year, I’m looking forward to growing as a club and being able to accomplish greater things!

Marco Noble | Freshman This year has been amazing! I have met so many new faces and made so many friends, close friends, and created bonds. Key Club has made a change in my life. It made me let my feelings out and socialize more. The End of Year Banquet was awesome because of the Disney Theme. The tables were beautiful and the posters were made with so much effort. Working with the banquet committee made so many good memories. I love Key Club!
