From the President Kayla DeSoto / President The Key Club at Northwest CTA is now in session! At our first meeting, not only did we fill Northwest's theater with new and returning members, but it also overflowed. Due to safety concerns, we then moved the meeting to the cafeteria where there were still too many people too count. It was obvious to notice everyone's, especially the board's, excitement at the first meeting. We practiced a CNH cheer and these bees buzzed louder than ever before! I can't wait to teach these new and returning members even more about key club and always cheer alongside them. Throughout this month we've had many community services where members helped our community in many ways. For many of the new members it was their very first-time volunteering and I'm glad they enjoyed it. While the services keep rolling and members gain the ultimate knowledge of key club, I hope they realize that key club is not only about helping our community and having fun, but also about creating a family. They may not notice it at first, but after of few meetings, a few community services, and bonding at RTC, the members will realize why I love key club so much. Northwest CTA's key club has started!
From the editor Vincent Fresco / Bulletin Editor Northwest Key Club has finally begun, and it is only a matter of time before we get together even more through RTC and Fall Rally! From the first meeting, I was in awe as I saw the many faces pack into our theater room, from that vision, I knew that it was going to be a great year with our new and returning members. Together we can help our community through the service events we all do together along with making sure everyone has fun while doing it! With me being on Key Club board, I only hope that I can make the members happy by taking photos of all the events and everything going on, and documenting it so the memories are everlasting. I want to keep making these newsletters to show other clubs and everyone within our community that we are a family that is just trying to learn and show our love about Key Club, with that I hope that together we’ll show our spirit for Key Club, continue to keep helping our community, and grow together as a family!
Madison Nugent / New Member When I first went to KC I really didn't know what it was going to be like but after I talked to some other members a lot of them told me that they liked it a lot. I had fun on the first meeting and I am still having a lot of fun with KC and I really want to stay in it for the next 4 years also.
Naomi Kidane / New Member Before attending the first meeting of Key Club I already knew what Key Club was because my brothers used to be in it. I thought that Northwest's Key Club was going to be very small but there was a large amount of students. I'm so glad that I came up during lunch to get insight of the club!
Priscilla Ayala / General Member I had an amazing memorable time at Horses 4 Heroes. We got to clean up the pens and the tool room and it was cool. The weather wasn't so great and now my face is red. I also liked walking the horse, this experience made me want to own a farm when I get older!
Sydney Schiano / General Member At the Horses 4 Heroes event, we got to clean up horse pens and pet the cool animals. it was a fun experience. I didn't like some parts because it was hot and my face turned really red. I liked it because of all the animals and being able to help them out. Bryan Andasol / General Member I really enjoyed the Horses 4 Heroes event, it was such a great experience for everyone. Even though it was extremely hot out there, it was worth being able to pet the animals and take care of them with all these amazing people.
Andrea Alcala / Participant This was my second year of dodgeball and I could say that I had so much fun, even more so than the first time I played. I'm not that great at all in sports but knowing my friends and I made a team together and had fun is what matters. Dodgeball made me so sore and I kept running around avoiding a hit to my head. In the end, I found that just participating in every key club event possible, even though I may not be confident about it, is worth it. I'm so glad I got to join my last dodgeball tournament!
Anton MaĂąada / Participant The dodgeball tournament fundraiser turned out great! Helping sell tickets through advertising and playing on a team was fun. I was on a team with our president, Kayla DeSoto, our Vice President of service, Andrea Alcala, and our friend Shandell Uy. Playing against our Key Club members was a blast and it was endearing to see the winners accept the prizes of t-shirts, a dodgeball spirit stick, and tickets to Gravady. I hope that the dodgeball tournament fundraiser continues its success in the years to come!
