Looks like the school year has finally started! We just on Thursday, September recently had our first meeting 8th and it was amazing! We have several new members that are excited to begin their Key Club journey as well as many returning members that are pumped for an exciting year! In the remainder of my term I hope for more inter-club activities and a strong retention of members throughout the year. Especially with Regional Training Conference and Fall Rally South right around the corner, I can't wait to show all of Northwest Key Club what the Key Club Experience is truly about. Look forward to many socials, memorable service events, and workshops that will BEE truly inspiring!

The new school year has finally begun and the board is excited to get the club up and running! It was so great to see a bunch of new faces come to our first meeting, and of course, the returning members as well. FOR THE NEW MEMBERS: As bulletin editor, part of my job is creating a monthly newsletter to showcase our club! Here you will find information on past and future events, reminders, updates, and etc.! I can't wait to show you my work throughout the year, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. We've all been waiting for Key Club to start, and it's exciting that the time has finally come. Cheers to an amazing start, let's get this show on road!

Freshman Orientation

Alyssa Watanabe | Sophomore Freshman Orientation turned out to be a huge success! Me along with other members recruited many freshmen to join Key Club. We talked to many incoming students and parents informing them about how great and helpful this club really is. I gladly explained to many freshmen how Key Club becomes a second family. Towards the end of the orientation I saw that our booth had a huge line of new students signing up. I was amazed to see so many new recruits at the first meeting! The most exciting thing was to see how many freshmen we're thrilled for Key Club. I'm very excited for what this year has in store for us!

Gianna Coloma | Junior Representative I went to both shifts for the orientation, and I'm so glad I did! Our LTG and Executive Assistant, Justin and Nicole, came to help us out. They were amazing and I'm so glad I was able to meet them, they were so easy to get along with and they were so fun to be around. There were many freshmen and parents we talked to, after explaining to them what our club does, it was as if they instantly knew why we love our key club family. This was mostly due to Kayla's (our secretary) amazing communication skills. Overall, freshmen orientation was great! I'm so glad so many were able to come to our first meeting and I hope they continue to be part of our family!

First meeting of the school year

Chloe Tabayoyong | New Freshman Member My first Key Club meeting was a blast, yet slightly overwhelming (that’s normal for a freshman right?). I didn’t expect that there’s so many people that want to join, and that’s a good thing. A REALLY good thing. I heard about Key Club before when I still lived in Florida, but what really persuaded me to take a shot was my cousin and my friend. My cousin, a former Key Club member, told me about Key Club, and how it’s really fun. During orientation, my friend ‘dragged’ me to the Key Club table and told me to sign up for it, so I did. My thoughts were towards NHS at first, but when I went to the first meeting, wow, they’re really cool. I felt intimidated in there, because of the many upperclassmen, but I had my friends as my support system. What made me laugh the most was the Icebreaker game with RiRi, Drake, and Queen B. “I SAY RIRI, YOU SAY WERK, WERK, WERK, WERK, WERK!” I love how everyone treats each other like la familia, rather than amigos/amigas. I feel that I’ll stick around as much as possible, and be a member of this unique family!

Bea Velandria | New Sophomore Member KEY CLUB, THE PLACE WHERE YOU MAKE KEYS TO OPEN OPPORTUNITIES TO GREAT ADVENTURES. Just kidding, you don't actually make keys. I recently visited Key Clubs first meeting of 2016-2017 year, and wow, the room was filled with screams and shouts. The board members were filled with so much spirit and energy it made me laugh and smile from beginning to end. Seeing more and more friends of mine filling the room and deciding whether or not they should join filled me with joy because I thought to myself, "this year's going to be so loud and fun." Key Club put some great expectations for me and I can't wait to join this year and experience so much with everyone.

Malia Montenegro | New Junior Member Before I went to the first key club meeting, I was really unsure about joining. When the key club meeting started the room was full and everyone was so energetic. I loved seeing my friends on the stage and watching them get so excited about this club. This year I'm ready to participate in all of the events (especially RTC) and make friendships I’ll remember forever.

Kait Castillo | New Senior Member Walking into the first Key Club meeting of the year made it feel like it was a new start to high school all over again. The board was very welcoming and enthusiastic and I really felt like I was a part of the family. I hope that Key Club can end my senior year in a great way as it started with my freshman year. With this first meeting going great, I wouldn't ever doubt it. RTC is coming up and new opportunities are surfacing as well. I look forward to the rest of it. Hope it's L17! ;-)
