A New Era for Investing in Growth and Innovation BBAA Annual Conference and Awards Dinner Manchester, 13 and 14 July 2010 The BBAA’s 6th Annual Awards Dinner and Conference will take place against the backdrop of the launch of a unique new political era. This offers an opportunity to review the climate for investing in innovating early stage businesses in this exciting phase as the new coalition government settles in; and to consider the prospects for the economy and what changes are being implemented that will impact on early stage investing going forward.

These events, organised by the British Business Angels Association as the UK’s body for angel and early stage investing, will be held in the contemporary riverside setting of The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, one of the most dynamic cities in the UK.

This ever popular black tie event, attended by over 180 guests from the early stage investment market, offers the opportunity for all of those connected with the industry to recognise and share in the success and achievements over the past year. The event will begin with a champagne reception overlooking the river followed by a three course dinner and drinks as well as after dinner speakers, offering the opportunity for corporate tables and unrivalled networking. Six prestigious awards will be presented and the BBAA will shortly be seeking nominations which will be judged by an expert panel.

The Annual Conference on the 14 July will feature high level expert speakers and panellists from the UK, Europe and wider international markets, bringing experience from policy makers, industry experts and investors, as well as entrepreneur case studies. There will be a strong focus on hot sectors for investing in early stage businesses, with industry and finance experts looking at trends and innovations in converging markets and technologies including clean tech, digital media and healthcare. The conference will include a range of interactive debates and will provide extensive opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.

The BBAA is delighted to have the support of the Northwest Regional Development Agency, offering an opportunity to learn about the growth and new developments in the Northwest Region, as the UK’s largest regional economy with nearly 250,000 businesses.
