Salary Range:

£60,000 - £70,000 p.a., depending upon experience

Job Purpose: To provide effective and timely programme management, performance management, strategic and business support to the Chief Executive and the Executive team. Main Accountabilities: Responsible for: • • •

Ensuring that the Annual Business Plan, Corporate plan, budgets and management accounts are produced to timetable with monthly reporting of progress against budget, key project milestones and output targets; Ensuring compliance with statutory company requirements and company policies; Managing all corporate affairs including finance, management accounting, programme management, corporate assurance, risk management, investment applications and approvals, establishing financial delegations, regulations and guidelines, new initiatives, local and regional market intelligence/evidence gathering and research, establishing best practice, core values and other support functions; Providing secretariat support for Audit and HR Committees and overseeing internal audit arrangements; Ensuring the smooth running and management/administration of the office; Ensuring project management systems and reporting is accurate and up to date to facilitate corporate reporting; Supporting the Chief Executive/Executive team in policy and strategy development; Representing the Chief Executive/Executive team in Working Groups and Boards, taking thematic responsibility as required; Ensuring learning and development opportunities are presented for personal and team development; Implementing and promoting a suite of company policies including an Equality and Diversity policy both internally and externally; Liaising with Founding Member organisations to ensure compatibility with systems and reporting.

Person Specification Knowledge, Skills & Experience: • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Senior management experience within a multi-disciplinary working environment; financial, budgetary and programme/project management control within a major organisation; Highly developed programme and performance management skills; Development, delivery and evaluation of business plans and targets; Knowledge of corporate strategy, corporate planning, corporate governance, procurement and audit requirements; Knowledge and understanding of national, regional and city regional policy in relation to economic development and regeneration; Experience of working within a complex multi-agency environment including local and central government and non-governmental organisations; Political awareness and an understanding of regional and local strategies, policies and programmes; Highly developed partnership working skills and an ability to work with both the public and private sectors; Experience of leading strategy and policy development at senior level; Experience of leading and motivating teams; Excellent networking and communication skills; Excellent influencing and representation skills; Educated to Degree level and/or relevant professional qualification; Office management experience and knowledge of statutory company requirements.
