Centre for Process Innovation - Contract Notification Supply of Specialist Consultancy Services Tender Title: Consultancy Support in Printable Electronics Contract Ref: CPI Tender No 131 Tender Description: The Northern Way Note 1 aims to influence policy and delivery at a local, city region, regional and national level, to join up thinking and encourage collaboration, and has recently announced a ÂŁ5.7 million investment in a project designed to stimulate supply chains in Printable Electronics across the North of England. Printable Electronics is an emerging disruptive global technology with a current market around $1bn but with recent estimates highlighting growth to $48bn by 2017, rising towards $300bn by 2027. This industry will require new materials and manufacturing technologies and its outputs will be used in both conventional electronic items (e.g. displays) as well enabling new products. This programme will provide a key element in generating a supply chain from new materials through to device integration. The North of England has the opportunity to develop coordinated capabilities to exploit this global market. There is an established industrial base in chemicals, materials and electronics although few businesses are currently active in the printed electronics sector. Accordingly, CPI is now intending to appoint up to three organisations or individuals to provide specialist consultancy services to the project. This may include but not necessarily be limited to the following: Assisting at workshops (first one planned for 30 June 2009 in Leeds) Evaluation of Proposals from applicants to the competition Providing information and advice to applicants
The services will be provided principally in the geographical areas of the three Northern Regional Development Agencies. The services will be provided on a part time as required basis, over 21 month period. Initial estimate of work load is between 10 - 20 days per consultant, but this will be subject to review.
