Baltic Creative - Building Contract Redevelopment of existing Industrial Units in the Baltic area of Liverpool to provide inexpensive workspace for creative industry companies varying in size from several people to 30 employees The project will be carried out in two phases.

Pilot Scheme Refurbishment of 3 units with a contract value of circa ÂŁ750,000 Catalyst Scheme Refurbishment of 15 units with a contract value of circa ÂŁ1,500,000 It is proposed to initially tender the Pilot Scheme followed by a further tender for the Catalyst Scheme.

The project includes re-roofing, internal refurbishment, new toilets/kitchen, sub-division of some units, new heating/ventilation/electrical systems, external smartening-up and achievement of a BREEAM Very Good rating.

Phase 1 of the project will be tendered in December 2009 on the basis of Drawings/Specification/Schedules. Start on site is in March 2010. The construction period is around 5 months. The implementation of Phase 2 is dependant on the success and take-up on Phase 1.
