Tsillan Cellars: 2016 Estate Barbera
Driving into Chelan, Washington is a treat, especially for wine lovers. In addition to the blue waters that greet you, the hillsides surrounding that lake are covered in vineyards ready to create every type of wine you can think of.
With so many wine tasting options, it can be tough to keep track of tasting times and the kinds of wine you can expect to find. Some spots are good for just a tasting flight or glass of wine, while others offer snacks or full meals. There’s something for everyone.
After visiting no fewer than a dozen vineyards and wineries, we settled on Tsillan Cellars as - far and away - the best overall experience. In addition to an incredible selection of both red and white wines, the dining experience at Sorrento’s was the best we had during our trip. Tsillan is an experience, complete in every way.
Because it’s one of the oldest, largest vineyards in the region, Tsillan simply has a lot to offer as a place for tourists and as a place for locals to convene. In fact, Monday’s are a phenomenal day to visit because the combination of wine tasting, happy hour, live music, and incredible views from the Tuscan-style terrace simply can’t be beat. And, best of all, it’s perfect for couples or families.
If you take the time to visit Tsillan Cellars, make sure you try the Estate Barbera - all the grapes for their wines are grown on property - and enjoy a tour of the vineyards and koi ponds while you’re sipping.
