Thanks for picking up the first Leisure Issue of the Leaf!

11 This issue marks the 10th anniversary of Northwest Leaf, which I began publishing in Washington state in 2010. Optimism was a big part of my mindset then - knowing that Cannabis healed lives and that it would one day be legal to grow and share. I feel the same energy today as I did a decade ago. We have so much to look forward to, for the scars of the war on drugs to be healed and our planet to breathe through our sister plants - Cannabis and Hemp. I believe the most important trait we can embody at this time is optimism. It’s something you can’t buy or get from the news and it definitely comes from within. It’s a choice to view the cup as half full and live with a mindset that embraces the positive - allowing negativity to slip into the past. I BELIEVE THE MOST IMPORTANT TRAIT WE CAN EMBODY AT THIS TIME IS OPTIMISM.

It is with that intention that we decided to create a Cannabis Mandala for our covers.

Our hope is that Malina Lopez and Daniel Berman’s combined artistic efforts help to lift your spirits and radiate the happy energy of the plant. And once you’ve taken a deep breath of positive vibes and Cannabis, I invite you to explore our first annual Leisure Issue.
