When the terpene profile of a dab rivals the cannabinoid profile of flower, you know the extraction team did a top notch extraction – preserving and concentrating the essence of the cultivar into a delectable, dabbable batter. The challenge now is deciphering the nuances of the profile, since it has a decent chunk of just about every terpene you could want in your medicine. Starting at the top of the profile, we see 8.2% terpinolene and 5% caryophyllene, which drives the profile towards a relaxed, calm and energized – but not racy – headspace. Humulene, myrcene and pinene come in the 2-3% range, while terpinene, ocimene, limonene, and the rare carene appear in the 1-2% range, with just a .54% smidge of linalool rounding out the bottom of the profile. When it comes to the aroma and flavor, terpinolene comes through with its well known freshness, but not in an overpowering way. In fact, the predominant notes I get are herbaceous and floral, similar to a wildflower garden and fruit trees in bloom. The amalgamation of smells come together into a robust sense of natural freshness that is as appetizing as it is invigorating. Indeed, the aroma alone is enough to improve my mood – definitely a hallmark of a top quality dab. The inhale and exhale reveal a soapy and floral spectrum that is dotted with hints of cherry blossom and the best parts of industrial adhesives – a statement of any Glue genetics. My first dab of the Guice instantly invigorated my senses and cleared my mind. I felt my body unclench and my mind awaken – leaving my spirit calm and in a beautiful, harmonious unity that could only have been orchestrated by a fully activated endocannabinoid system. The symphony of pain alleviation, mental calm, clarity, gastro-intestinal relief, mood elevation and focus shot through every perception mechanism my body had to offer.
