23.7% THC | INDICA HYBRID
As the saying goes, “There’s always room for pie.” And during pie season in the Northeast, I’m always on the hunt for strains that would pair perfectly with pies and cakes after a large holiday meal, or perhaps a weekend get-together with friends.
So when the budtender at Landrace recommended trying the Gelato 41 – an indica-dominant hybrid with 23.7% THC – I politely accepted the advice.
Opening the glass jar, I discovered hard nugs of good size with a beautiful mix of light green and dark purple leaves – all covered in sparkling trichomes. The smell of the nugs as I broke them apart had a lovely citrus and blueberry scent, plus a woody twist. Rolling up a fat joint, the flower seemed perfect in texture and dryness – easily broken up with my fingers instead of needing a grinder.
The taste featured a sweet berry and citrus, with a slight cedarwood overtone that matched the aroma perfectly. This is one great tasting flower, and I only wish I could enjoy puffing on it while working throughout the day. After just a few hits off the joint, it’s like I was almost becoming part of the couch. The normal back pain dissipated quickly, and I could feel a serious stoner mode setting in.
Newbies beware: Gelato 41 got this old stoner very high, which isn’t normally the case. Landrace’s Head Cultivator Mike Mattei has done stellar work with this strain and it will stone you to the bone.
This is one of the finest cultivars for holiday festivities — Whether hanging out with friends watching sports or a movie, or if you just want to get exceptionally baked with some fabulous tasting flower! And of course, it goes great with coffee, pies and cake.
