SCHEDULE CHANGES You will have an opportunity to change your schedule with your academic advisor on Friday, Aug. 24. This is the time to make any last-minute changes to your schedule. See page 12 for more information. The first week of classes is also a free drop-add period.

It is very important to attend all required events. Your peer advisor will tell you your assigned times for “Diversity and U,” “Can I Kiss You?” and “Helping Bearcats Succeed.” Use this book to keep track of weekend events.

3 p.m. Freshman Orientation for freshman who did not attend SOAR or the SOAR make-up day. Parking permit

To get your parking permit, go to the “Personal Information” tab in CatPAWS, click the “Parking Permit Registration” link. Permits can be picked up in the Cashiering Office on the first floor of the Administration Building.

Email essentials

Your email address is username@nwmissouri.edu. Your username can be found in CatPAWS under the “Personal Information” tab.

Where do we eat?

Your Campus Dining plan starts at 10:30 a.m., so you can start eating at the Union right away. Your families are welcome to purchase lunch, or use a guest meal if your meal plan allows. Commuters can use their commuter plan or pay with cash or card.

Need help?

If you have any questions today, go to Orientation Central on the third floor of the Union or call the Student Success Center at 660.562.1695. You can also ask your resident assistant (RA), University Seminar instructor or peer advisor. They can help you get adjusted to your new environment.

Get those textbooks! If you haven’t had time to get your textbooks, make sure you go to The Station from noon - 4 p.m. today or Monday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m to pick them up!

What if I get sick? If you are ill, go to Wellness Services, west of Millikan Hall. If you miss any sessions during Advantage, contact your University Seminar instructor or peer advisor. They will help you catch up on what you’ve missed. If you miss a class because of illness during the regular school year, be sure to contact your instructors as soon as possible.

If you cannot meet your financial obligation to the University, there may be solutions. There is an installment payment plan you can sign up for in the Bursar’s Office on the first floor of the Administration Building. Call 660.562.1583 with questions. You can also meet with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance on the second floor of the Administration Building or by calling 660.562.1363 to see if you have more options.
