Raploch, Stirling is Britain’s most musical housing estate. 450 children from babies to teens are learning to play music together in a symphony orchestra. Since its launch in 2008 Big Noise has had huge social and musical impact. Independent research shows the children are more conďŹ dent, happier and better behaved as a result of taking part. Several players have made it into the NYOS Junior Orchestra and we are delighted to have a strong partnership with NYOS to develop the talent emerging from the communities where we work. A second Big Noise centre opens in Glasgow’s Govanhill this year, and we plan more around the country.
