Faithe Herman Volume7
HELLO THERE, READER! It’s our first Star Power issue of the fall season and I’m so excited to have Faithe Herman on the cover. If Faithe’s face looks familiar it is because she shows up on your TV screens every Tuesday night playing the role of Annie Pearson. Like many people across the country "This Is Us" has managed to make me laugh and sob episode after episode, and this new season is not holding back. One thing "This Is Us" fans might not know is that their favorite Pearson is joining the DC Universe. This April, Faithe is set to star in “Shazam!" the highly anticipated film that shows the origin story of the superhero Shazam. I can't wait to see what other roles Faithe will continue to take on in her career, and I hope you are inspired to go after your dreams after reading this issue. -YOURS

You started acting at a young age. What initially got you interested in acting? I started at the age of 5 doing background work. I never told my mom I wanted to do it, she just had the idea to see if I would like it. My mom eventually signed me and my sister with BMG Model & Talent. I went on numerous auditions. It took a little over a year before I booked anything. I was really shy; however, I grew out of it and became more confident and started really liking it.
How did the opportunity to be on “This Is Us” come about? My agent called my mom and said she had an audition for an Untitled Dan Fogelman Pilot for the role of Annie and she felt good about it, hence the name.
Can you relate to your character Annie Pearson? Yes, we are both the youngest in the family, we say witty comments and I consider myself stylish like Annie.
What was your favorite scene of “Shazam!” to shoot? ( if you can say ) Oh wow. This is hard. I can’t give any spoilers of course; however, this whole movie is so amazing. I had numerous favorite scenes. Every day of filming was so much fun. I can say I did a little stunt work and that was especially exciting.
Can you tell us anything about your character in “Shazam!”? My character in Shazam! Is Darla Dudley. I am the youngest of the foster siblings. I may be the youngest, but I am very protective of them. My favorite color is purple and I am vegan. I also talk a lot because silence makes me feel uncomfortable.
If you were a superhero in real life what would you want your powers to be? If I could choose a superpower, it would be to be invisibility and time travel.
Do any of your older castmates give you acting advice on set?
What other creative outlets do you have besides acting?
Everyone on set is very supportive of each other. There are times when we practice on our own and with each other. Mr. Sterling has told us before to not worry when we feel we make a mistake, just keep going, it’s OK.
I like taking ballet classes.
How does it feel to be a part of the DC universe? I pinch myself thinking about it. It is a dream come true to be part of the DC Universe. I am extremely excited for the movie.
What advice do you have for other young girls who want to act? Follow your passion. If it is something you want to do, don’t give up because it is a lot of hard work. There may be times you do not book a job, but it is OK. What is meant for you will happen. Believe and have faith.
