E NGĀ MATAA WAKA O TE MOTU, TĒNĀ KOUTOU KATOA Two appointed Trustee positions vacant The New Zealand AIDS Foundation, New Zealand’s leading HIV prevention and support organisation, is seeking to appoint two new trustees. The NZAF has a vision of a world without HIV and AIDS and aims to achieve this through its mission of preventing the transmission of HIV and supporting people affected by HIV and AIDS to maximise their health and wellbeing.

The principal responsibilities of Trustees are to set the overall strategic direction of the NZAF, monitor the performance of the NZAF against strategic goals, ensure the prudent management of NZAF finances, protect the good name of the NZAF, and to employ the NZAF Executive Director.

The NZAF Trust Board is specifically seeking applicants with: • accounting skills or financial management experience • a sound understanding of tikanga Māori • strategic planning expertise • experience working in the public health sector.

All applicants are expected to have knowledge and experience of the communities most affected by HIV in New Zealand.

Individuals who meet the above criteria, are living with HIV and willing to have their HIV status known publicly are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications from individuals within New Zealand’s African communities and from women are also welcome.

The Trust Board meets approximately eight times per year, and Trustees are expected to undertake work from time to time between meetings. Appointed Trustees have a two-year term with the option of being appointed for another two terms.
