PAST GLORIES The Antique Outboard Motor Club’s special exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the history of powerboating. With 45 antique outboards on display, the exhibition will also be a celebration of Evinrude’s 110th anniversary. In addition to a range of 14 antique Evinrude outboards from 1913 to 1975, there will also be

Be among the very first to see these innovative new world-first vessels from pioneering Auckland company, Galloway International. The new Mac Boats 700GY, which was launched just in time for the show, is the world’s largest one-piece polyethylene boat! A 7m centre console with a 2.2m beam, it weighs just 700kgs. Designed for commercial and military use in open water and built to CE standards, it features a variable deadrise hull, fine entry
and shallow draft. It will be powered by a 150hp E-Tec Evinrude outboard and will on display at the Galloway International stand, stand 251. Another impressive innovation from Galloway and making its debut at the show, is the world’s first polyethylene Scout Cutter. Resembling a traditional clinker cutter, the new Fern Cutter has already attracted interest from Scout and sailing groups worldwide. It will be on display and able to be boarded at its berth in the Hutchwilco Pool.
PILOT A ROV! Bay Dynamics will be showcasing their impressive range of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) for the first time at the show. These are great for exploring under the waves and, to show how easy they are to operate, they’re giving people the chance to “pilot” one on their BlueROV simulator and large 65in screen. STAYING STABLE The new www.fishing.net.nz project boat, an Extreme 745 Centre Console, is something of a world first. It is the smallest vessel in the world to be fitted with a Seakeeper II antiroll stabilisation system. The system uses a flywheel, spinning at up to 9700rpm in a vacuum, to detect the sea state. A gyro then reacts accordingly to produce opposing torque to mitigate the boat’s roll.
