I. Health Stamps. The 1962 Health stamps are being placed on sale on 3 October and unless supplies are exhausted earlier will be withdrawn on 31 January, 1963.
As stated in Bulletin No. 25, denominations and subjects are:-

The stamps which are illustrated here will show each bird as near as possible to its natural colour against a blue background in the 3~d. denomination and an orange in the 4d. denomination. Messrs Thomas De La Rue & Co. Ltd., London have printed the stamps by the photogravure process. New Zealand Star paper with a consistency or 25 per cent rag, 25 per cent Birch Wood and 50 per cent Esparto has been used. Normal sheets will have 120 specimens, while miniature sheets or six stamps will also be available. A post office will be open on 3 October at each or the six permanent Health camps and a distinctive pictorial datestamp will be used at these offices on that day. The Health camps with the respective districts in parenthesis are as rollows:Maunu (Whangarei) Pakuranga (Auckland), Gisborne (Gisborne), Otaki (Wellington~, Glenelg (Christchurch), Roxburgh (Dunedin). New Zealand residents desiring to have covers cancelled with the special dates tamps should rorward their addressed envelopes to the Chief Postmaster or the district concerned. A servicing ree or 1d. per envelope is to be included in each remittance.
O~icial aouvenir envelopes have been produced by the Health Camps authorities and will be available to New Zealand residenta rrom some stores and stationers throughout the country ror the usual price or 2d. per cover.
Overseas clients should place their orders ror mint stamps or rirst day covers with the Director-General, Postal Division, General Post Orrice, Wellington. Orricial covers will be available ir required at a cost or 2d. each and a servicing ree or 1~d. each will be charged. Ir addressed envelopes are supplied the ree will be 1d. each. Orders should be posted in surricient time to reach the General Post Orrice not later than 26 September. 2. Christmas Stamp 1962.This year's issue will t'eature the "Madonna in Prayer" by Sassof'errato. The original or the painting hangs in the National Gallery, London. The stamp is illustrated here.

The date or issue will be 15 October and provided stocks are not exhausted earlier, the stamps will be withdrawn rrom sale on 12 January, 1963. Souvenir envelopes are not being provided by the Post Orfice, but should overseas clients require rirst day cancellations, orders may be placed with the Director-General, Postal Division, General Post Orrice, Wellington and should reach the General Post Orrice not later than 11 October. The normal servicing ree or 1~d. per cover will be charged, but this will be reduced to 1d. ir addressed envelopes are supplied by clients. Orders ror rirst day covers rrom residents in New Zealand are not accepted at the General Post O~ice. Orders for mint stamps can be placed prior to the date or release or at any time during the period the stamps are on sale. 3.

The rererence in Bulletin 25 about the Pictorial 2d. stamp being printed rrom plate 2125 is incorrect. The stamp printed from this plate was the 3d. one.
A new stamp booklet containing twelve id., twelve id. and twelve 3d. Pictorial stamps was released on 21 Kay, 1962. These booklets are priced at 4s.6d. each. Apart from the addition of two panes of id. stamps the make-up of the booklets is the same as the previ ous issue. Counter appliance coils of the 2;d. and 1s.3d. denominations have recently been released to post offices throughout the country. The make-up of the 2td. roll (value ÂŁ5 Os.Od.) is the SAme as that for the lower Pictorial denominations, while the 1s.3d. (value ÂŁ20 Os.Od.) is similar to the 1s.6d. Queen Elizabeth. 2td. provisional issue.The Postal Division has a limited quantity of plate 18 available. Stocks of plates 17, 19 and 20 of this issue were exhausted some time sgo.

S. Western Samoa.-
Overseas clients are reminded that the Postal Division is not supplying orders for the new stamps. Orders should be addressed to the Chief Postmaster, Apia, Western Samoa. The sheet value is shown in the top right-hand corner, while the printer's imprint, together with the plate number, appears in the bottom left-hand corner of each sheet. 6.
