The sheet value will be on the top right-hand selvedge and the plate numbers and the printer's imprint on the bottom left. For this new issue the usual first day of issue hand canceller service and the first day of issue machine cancellation service will be available at the Chief Post Offices at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Wellington. Ordinary hand-datestamping facilities will be available at other offices. 2.

Orders for all the stamps mentioned in this Bulletin may be placed by overseas clients with the Director-General, Fostal Division, General Post Office, Wellington. The servicing fees are set out above. New Zealand clients may order by post those stamps mentioned ~n paragraph 8. First day covers which enclose a statement of ¡the transaction must bear postage at the letter rate applicable to the country of destination. For Commonwealth countries the rate is 4d for the first ounce. For other countries the rate is 7d for the first ounce. 3.

The special stamp issued on 5th January to commemorate the Fourth National Scout Jamboree will, unless stocks are exhausted earlier, remain on sale at post offices until 28th February, 1966. After that, it may be ordered by post from the Postal Division, General Post Office, ~ellington until 31st October, 1966. The stamp has been printed in two colours, green and gold on a whit~ background, in sheets of 120 by Messrs Harrison i Sons Ltd., London. The plate numbers are 1A 1A. The sheet value (ÂŁ2) appears at the top right corner and the printer's imprint at the bottom left.

NEWZElUAND 5. Churchill Commemorative Issue Consequent upon the introduction of the new 7d Pictorial (Koromiko) stamp, the Churchill commemorative stamp will be withdrawn from sale at post offices on 15th March, 1966. The stamp may continue to be ordered by post until 30th June, 1966. 6.

Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration (I C E M)

The Government of The Netherlands has agree1 to issue February, 1966 two special postage stamps ~ach bearing a surcharge. The proceeds from the sQrcharge will be used by ICSlf for refugee transport. The campaign to raise funds for ICEU is supported by Her Majesty, ~ueen Juliana of The r;etherlands. The stamps will have a postal value of ~uring


18 cents and 40 cents with a surcharge of 7 cents and 20 cents respectively in favour of the refugee movement. First day covers will be issued by The Netherlands Post Office on 1st February, 1966. On the same date, blocks of three stamps viz., a stamp of 18 (plus 7) cents between two stamps of 40 ~plus 20) cents will be issued. Inquiries and orders should be sent to the Philatelic Service of The Netherlands Postal Administration, Kortenaerkade 12, The Hague, Holland. 7.

Inaugural Flights

Persons wishing to have covers carried on the inaugural Air New Zealand flights from Auckland to Hong Kong on 3rd !larch and from Auckland to Singapore on 6th April should forw~rd their stamped addressed covers in time to reach the Chief Postmaster, Auckland not later than 28th February and 1st April respectively. Items carried on the inaugural flights will be postmarked with special pictorial datestamps. Wrapping enclosing the covers should be marked "Air NZ jet flight souvenir covers". 8. 9. Decimal Currency Stamps

As a preliminary notice it is mentioned that New Zealand will change over to decimal currency or. 11th July, 1967 and on that date decimal currency stamps will come on sale. The designs of the existing Pictorial issue will be retained but the number of denominations and the values are not yet known. Further information will be given in later Bulletins.


10. Postal Union Journal

The "Union Postale" magazine is published each month in seven languages by the Universal Postal Union and contains =any articles relating to postal services. Some which have ~ppeared concern the use of codes in conjunction with automatic sorting machines, parcel packing, motorisation of urban and rural delivery, and new postal films. The annual subscription is nine Swiss francs payable by =Jney order or a draft on Switzerland payable at sight. S~:tscriptions should be sent to the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union, Berne, Switzerland. 11.
